Very nice set, not for beginners
Incredibly innovative model!
Fantastic LEGO set with great features. It's like building a real piano! A magical moment when the keys move to the music. The model is connected to a hub via the phone and then plays the saved music pieces. A sensor detects when you want to play the melody yourself.
UNIQUE SET
It's really not just any LEGO set. It's the LEGO IDEAS series. Yes, I know, it seems like I'm advertising something, but that's exactly what it is. LEGO products have undeniable quality, but they are all very, very, very expensive. In this case, I have to say that the designer of this particular set should receive (and already has a few) the award for the best design for adults that has ever been made in its entire history. Five instruction manuals, to assemble with the whole family (mine in this case, 3 children, my wife and I). It's difficult to explain how good it is, compared to the recent garbage that has been released, such as the "Star Wars Death Star", which is neither a star, nor a diorama, nor anything at all (and it's also the most expensive set in history). Seriously, for me, it's one of the best LEGO purchases I've made in a long time.
Fun challenge, beautiful design.
Great LEGO set to build, surprisingly well-designed, clever design.
Excellent both technically and in terms of design.
The nice thing is that it is a combination of technology and a beautiful model.
A true work of art for enthusiasts
So beautiful that you'll be enchanted 😲❤️❤️
Missing a lot of Pieces
Re: Grand Piano
At page 446 I started missing pieces. I called in for replacement pieces. I assumed they would just send the piece packs from the kit according to the pieces missing and the page where I started missing. Nope I have to go thru every page to see what I am missing. I am so frustrated. For $400 you’d think they would make are all the bags/parts included.
Grand build
Have to say this was a great experience building this piano. Very easy instructions to follow step by step. Once finished it is beautiful to look at. I have bought lights to go with it and it looks fantastic particularly at night. Only bug bear is through every step it worked with the piano app all parts moving perfectly. Now that I’ve finished the moving parts stop moving like it’s jammed. Such as shame as it looked great when it worked. Still love it though. We have had a black mirrored plinth made to put it on. It is now pride of place in our extension.
Superrrrr!!!
Today I started working on the masterpiece, helping my son sort the blocks. It's very fun to help him. We are excited and curious about the final result.
Wing Piano
Great building set! Especially because this piano is Bluetooth-controlled.
Nice set
Great set for a great price, the box was undamaged, neatly packaged
Not recommend for children
At first, instruction aren’t clear and online instruction do not provide 3D view. It is hard to determine where the pieces place. Such as page #297…
Secondly, I like the cover and the description inside the lego book. However, when building the piano, it is not easy to flip the page and push it down in between pages. The way it prints aren’t too thoughtful for the paper book lover builder.
We like the creativity of lego. We look forward to see the improvement for other master pieces.
Thank you for accepting the review.
Box is damaged
Box is damaged and very bad condition
Bench is the Icing
This was my most enjoyable set build for a long time. While the piano itself was super interesting, particularly the authenticity of the action, something about making the lid was the most enjoyable. Perhaps because it was the final step, but simply in itself the lid was so elegant and true to life. The way the piano rolls around on the legs is also very satisfying. But all that was overshadowed by the bench. I hadn’t expected it. Icing on the cake. A few steps into building the bench, it dawned on me that it adjusted up and down using a lifelike screw mechanism, I gave a big smile. How cool is that! Now I need to train a squirrel to play it.
Keys never straight up once the motor is engaged
The build experience was fun. However, it is deeply disappointing that once the keyboard is engaged to the motor turn mechanics, you will never see all the keys be in their up position all at the same time again!
As in, some keys will always be pressed down position, while some will be half way up (see picture). The keys will never be all in their 'unpressed' position. I wonder if there is a way to make the motor disengaging the keys at the back... I am tempted to remove the motored turn stick altogether but this doesn't sound like a strategy Lego would want their customers to do to compensate this. I am hoping one of the Lego employees would read this comment and point me to a solution because maybe I didn't read the instruction properly? Thanks.
A grand adventure
I bought this for my adult daughter, but assembly really was a father-daughter experience over several Sundays, doing one or two of the 21 assembly segments during each of our sessions. The assembly was mostly straightforward with very few mishaps on our part. That being said, the mechanics of piano are a bit complex, and so assembly requires focus and care. We both loved the experience. This is a fun LEGO, and the age recommendation on the box seems reasonable. I had not expected the degree of detail that this amazing product provided, and as a lover of piano music and pianos, it was as close to perfect as it could be. Highly recommended.
Beautiful, but could be more complex.
Firstly, I’d like to say that this is a very visually appealing build, and interactivity is certainly it’s strongest quality. However, I feel that the age rating is quite misleading, as an 18+ build implies quite a high level of intricacies and of difficulty, which was not the case. I wasn’t necessarily trying to work quickly (in fact, I was trying to go slowly) yet this build was complete after only working on it for two nights. This was somewhat disappointing, as the piano is quite expensive and one would expect it to be more difficult and for it to take a long time to complete.
My only other complaint is that when looking more closely at the piano keys in detail, they don’t form a perfectly straight line as they aren’t lined up very precisely. This, however, is a much smaller gripe, as it could also be attributed to builder error.
Other than this, I was pleasantly surprised by the build as a whole, and the piano creates a beautiful and interactive centrepiece.
This is a great LEGO build and classy!!!
Well my sons and I have built many large scale LEGO kits and love them all.
My wife however has never built one. I bought her this as a gift since she loves pianos. She assembled it and enjoyed every minute of it.
It makes a great centerpiece for the table LOL
Great job again LEGO!!!
Amaaaaazing!!
We have room dedicated to Legos in our home and my husband and kids are Lego fanatics. Yet, this was MY first set and I absolutely loved building it. I'm a musician by trade, a pianist and band teacher teacher. I love the detail and I loved seeing it come together. I purposely took my time to build this to savor all the fine details. I'm in awe. I do have one complaint, why don't they use the correct written music in the app? They have the music on the Lego part that sits on the piano, but none of the songs actually match what is being played in the app. This seems like a small detail that was overlooked and can still be remedied. Everything else is better than hoped for.
Absolutely Amazing!!!!!!!
I bought this piano for my granddaughter for christmas. She is 21 and she loves it and says its the best lego shes done so far. The way it plays on it own is incredible and you can also play it yourself. The way that the chair moves up and down is amazing. I highly recommend.
