Bring to life the vast beauty of The Milky Way Galaxy (31212) with this incredible LEGO® wall art building kit for adults. It makes the ideal home decor gift idea and lets builders immerse themselves in a creative activity before they use the hanger element to display it. This awe-inspiring piece of art is created from 3,091 layered LEGO bricks and pieces to produce a 3D effect of incredible depth and texture. It includes some of the Milky Way’s most famous points of interest, including Trappist-1, the Pleiades, the Crab Nebula and the Pillars of Creation. There is also a ‘You are Here’ tile to show the earth’s place in the galaxy. Spectacular
We bought the Milky Way for our 12-year-old son who is passionate about astronomy, and it was a great gift! Now it's hanging in his room with the lights (which are not included in the box), and it's beautiful. Fantastic LEGO.

Fantastic
Outstanding set, fun to build
This is an amazing set, given to me as a Christmas present. It's been fun to build and even better to watch coming together. It's a masterpiece once finished. My only wishes would be that Lego produce a labelled diagrams of where the features parts are (the Gaia telescope is easy to spot but I want to know what other bits are). Two.... It's advertised as a wall art set but there are no instructions on how to mount this on the wall, and it's very heavy! A hint would be nice.
Beautiful and fun
I bought this as both my first Art piece and my first 'big' build. Let's start with the build process - i really enjoyed the fact that there was no repetition or boring bits, nothing was as predictable as the builds i've done to date, each area had its own little fun bits that kept you engaged in the build process. I had no issues with keeping it together aside from the corner dropping off a couple of times and i've included a photo of the back part way through for those who want to see how the 15 sections stick together (eagle-eyed people will spot the mistake, since corrected). I completed the build across 5 days, doing 1-2 hours a day. The outcome is a beautiful image with vibrant colours. It is quite big, it doesn't quite fit on the stand I wanted to place it on (3-5 cm too tall) so it's not yet on display. I will buy more art and I already have some space items waiting to be built. The finished picture includes a bowl with the 'extra' pieces that Lego included but were unused!

Fun Set
This was a fun build for my wife and myself. We would swap building the different plates. We bought the Light My Brick LMB 2.0 light kit as well.

Absolutely gorgeous piece of art that looks incredible on the wall! Worth every penny.
Fun art piece!
This set was exactly what I had been wanting! It had a lot of pieces and took awhile for me to complete but I prefer that over finishing one in like an hour. I really love the use of so many different pieces! The piece the "You are here" points to is glow in the dark! That was a surprise. I also found an alien piece they snuck in which was so cute! They also used random pieces like hairbrushes, forks, cherries, and whisks. I love all the different pieces adding such dimension to the set. They also made sure to give you plenty of extra of the smaller pieces that might be easily lost.
Incredibly cool set! Lots of imaginative bricks.
It was really fun to build this set. I spent about 5 days on it (working on it a little bit each day).
And the winner is...
This might be one of the most beautiful sets that LEGO has ever released. Why? The colors are truly stunning, and with a cheap, moving light effect, the Milky Way system almost comes to life. The 3D effect works. It is truly stunning in the dark without the expensive extra product from another brand. Don't miss this set, you won't regret it.
Quickly put to bed
Straight forward build, took about 3 hours total. A lot of flat 1 x...bricks , so direction placement attention critical or you'll be frustrated with having to pry apart to readjust Color scheme in instruction booklet a bit of value so the dark and purples were hard to distinguish.
Best Build Yet
I love the art Lego sets, they are my favorite. This one blew them all away though with all the fun and new pieces at every corner, I never knew what to expect when I was putting it together!
