Overwhelming
A very beautiful and large X-wing from LEGO! It's a pleasure to build and it's also very nice to look at. An absolute eye-catcher, visitors will immediately notice it and find the set very cool!
Dare I say? The most iconic ship in the Galaxy
The X-wing starfighter is an absolute must have set for any starwars fan! Since Luke Skywalker is my absolute favorite character I just had to get this set. I enjoyed building this one over the coarse of 3 days it arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. (for any collectors that love to save the box I highly reccomend ordering directly from Lego) This is the way.
This set has two mini figures and some stickers to apply. The build itself was easy to follow and I loved reading the inspo on the booklet. It only took me 3 days due to having work in between otherwise I could easily see myself having it done sooner. It was satisfying to see it come together and the wings moving is just the coolest thing ever! I was stoked when I learned they moved and as you build seeing the stand come together to display it was really nice. My favorite part was locking the wings into place with pegs it was the moment i really got excited! I also really liked that the description piece was printed rather than a sticker, (don't get me wrong I love a good sticker) but it made it feel more polished and official with its matte finish.
Sliding in Artoo had me cheesing and finally finishing it I couldn't stop looking at it. Now it lives in my art studio and I look at it every single morning! It was a dream build and lots of fun, this makes for a really exciting birthday or Christmas gift and I got a really great chance at lots of insiders points with the insiders rewards week! (You've got to sign up if you like Lego) the perks are awesome and I got a free gift with purchase savannah set to build as a bonus. Plus...free shipping so if you girl math it you saved imperial credits.
May the force be with you!
too fragile
This is a nice set, but it's too fragile. Every time, something falls off. Especially getting the wings to stay on is a problem because they fall off again.
Great!
Great value for money!
Star Wars X Wing Starfighter
Great set. I read some reviews about build quality and how fragile this set was and almost didn't buy it, but decided to give it a go because it's LEGO and they in my experience make good stuff.
After receiving this and starting building I found I had none of the issues described in other reviews.
The wings don't sag, the engines are straight and the panels seem to be quite sturdy. I do admit that I only have it as a static display and don't play with it or fly it around but even during the building process I found everything very easy.
If you are like me and on the fence about this set I would say grab it. It's fun and looks amazing when built.
UCS X-WING
The latest x-wing seems to be getting a mixed bag when it comes to reviews , personally I like the building techniques in this version , compared to the last one , and for nostalgia purposes , love it or hate it - the x-wing is iconic to starwars
I recommend it
As advertised
Genuine LEGO in perfect new condition, including an unmarked box.
great for LEGO fans
great LEGO set as usual. It comes with the stand to display it :) Just be careful when handling it after it is finished.
Disappointment
The pieces of the cockpit do not attach well. I had to glue some parts. For a LEGO, this is a complete failure. Buy something else.
Another Rubber Band X-Wing
The build was something I was really looking forward to, I'd waited a long time for another UCS X-Wing to release and waited a few months more after it arrived until we finished moving across the country. Needless to say, I was excited to finally building only to find out that it's wings were held up by the same rubber band system as the smaller sets. It's been 7 months since I built it and put it on my display shelf and now all I see is drooping wings and engines slowly going out alignment because of the amount of weight those bands have supported. There are designs out there to fix it with a sturdier gear system but it's a lot of work if you want to put in the time, but I would not recommend this set. The company should be disappointed in what they put out.
Best X Wing version to date!
The best x-wing starfighter in my opinion. I had a great time building this set. There are few things like gaps between and when looking from the too of the wings. There are some very good techniques, mainly the system to set it in attack position. This set is not sturdy, just be mindful. The stand has some issues where the two pieces right under keep detaching so I just removed them.
Overall it is very good looking set and mostly accurate aside R2D2's size.
I was pleased to see that the canopy was bagged and not loose in the box as some reviewers mentioned.
Good, but need some modifications
Love the X-Wing fighter from back in the day, & already had the smaller set of this one, but had to have the larger & more piece count one of course!☺️ some of the build was a bit frustrating. As pieces weren’t all that secure. The sides kept falling off, but made a modification & it worked!;) I took a couple pics, as the black piece from the cockpit stuck out too much, & this mod pushed it back & lined up better imho. It’s not the most robust of my collection (currently working on the AT-AT) but love the sheer size of this one! Would recommend again —
Despite the bad reviews I purchased and loved it
There were many mixed reviews but I bought it anyway and it was just fine no missing pieces I finished with extra pieces the wings are attached for sturdy and am not afraid of moving it at all. It’s a Lego though so of course if you are rough with it something could come apart. It’s aged appropriately for it to be a display not a child’s play toy if I let a kid play with it, it would definitely break.
The bad reviews on this item made the experience worse for me because I was nervous the whole time that I may have made a bad purchase, that there would be missing pieces or it would be to fragile to assemble but it turned out great and I recommend to anyone who was considering but hesitant because of reviews. I’m 32 and haven’t built legos in a long time this is my first set in adulthood and it took me around 4 hours to complete. Last phot is all the extra pieces this only made me nervous that I missed something but they were definitely just duplicates.
Worst LEGO design ever
This is the worst LEGO set I have ever experienced. The wings fall off. The stand cannot support the weight. Pieces fall off after construction. The side panels on the nose do not attach, you need glue. Awful, totally awful!
Nice but unstable
Very nice and large, definitely recommended. Unfortunately, it is very fragile; if you accidentally bump into it, something will fall off, and it probably shouldn't be priced at that price.
Beautiful and fulfilling set
I bought this set at a Lego store during Starwars week but finally built it yesterday. I was nervous about building it because of the average-poor reviews. I must say, I was pleasantly impressed with the build! Total build time for me was approximately 6.5 hours. I had no problems putting and keeping any of the panels together. I also found it interesting the way some of the angles and curves were implemented. As for the sturdiness of the building, while I would run around my living room reenacting and epic battles, I had zero problems moving the set from my build location to its final display location. I also had no issues carrying it around to show my family. While care should be taken with any Lego collectors model, it’s not a “flimsy” build in my opinion. I did have an issue with scratches on the cockpit window, Lego was very quick to resolve by sending me a replacement! 100% would recommend this set!
Cool set with some unnecessary hate
In my opinion, there’s a lot of unnecessary hate in the reviews. It’s an engaging build (although expectedly the wings are repetitive) and it is an awesome display set. But that’s what it is. A display set. And that’s okay! Some of the panels do fall off due to poor connection points, but it isn’t a play scale X-Wing. I made some of my own modifications to tighten the wing mechanism and bring the engines closer to the body; that’s part of the fun of Lego for me. For what it’s worth, I really enjoy this set. I’m surprised to see it ranked so poorly.
Fun to build.
Nice scale model and fun to build, with a number of fun building techniques.
X-wing
super set
Amazing set!
This has become my favorite set to build. I read some reviews stating that it falls apart easily, however, my experience was quite the opposite. This X-Wing build was fun to build and it was fun to see it come to life in its various phases. I handled the finished product often to test its durability and it held strong.
This set is an amazing set and piece to any Star Wars fan! And the details make it a must have set in your home.
