Something wrong with the glass house?
A well thought out representation of the British Mini. An easy build overall and there are some nice touches, particularly with the picnic set. The only glaring design element is the front and rear window pieces. They protrude into the occupant space and don't look correct to my eye. Perhaps Lego didn't want to tool up a new part, but it just looks wrong. The only other item is the steering wheel, too big in diameter. The stickers came worn, but Lego replaced these happily enough upon request. The Canberra plates are a cool touch though! Overall a fun build.

Great Mini Cooper, fun to build
I have always loved mini coopers as a car and found this set enjoyable to build. I completed it over two nights after work. Instructions were simple to understand and the parts were easy to assemble. I liked the inclusions of a picnic basket and rug. I loved how the doors of cooper open and close, seats can be pushed forward so you can get to the back seats. This set is value for money and I would recommend this set to anyone.

Best Gift Ever
I got this for Christmas 2017, and I absolutely loved it. Took me a good day with breaks to finish it but, oh man, was it worth it. I have always been obsessed with Mini Coopers and when I found out they had a LEGO version, I just had to assemble it. I’ve never had any legos before, so this has introduced me to a huge world that I am willing to fall into.
Honestly had a blast putting it together and seeing all of the functions as it came along, the seats moving, the trunk and the hood, the moveable gearshift. It’s just so entertaining. And that it even had a spare tire built into the car. All these fun details that make it, with lack of a better word, super dang cool. I loved it.

Fantastic present for Dad
I bought this as a Christmas present for my father who, in the 1960s and 70s, used to drive around Europe in one of these. He's not a signed up 'Adult Fan Of Lego' and so I thought it was a bit of a risk buying him something that is a bit of a toy. I shouldn't have worried - he really enjoyed the absorbing build and is really pleased with the completed model. I think his photos attached show how pleased he is with the results.

My Dream Car
Ever since I saw my first Mini at an antique car show, I was hooked. Then I notice that Lego has one in my favorite color? I had to build it.
Overall a very nice build that most people could do in an afternoon. It is nice to see that the engine was mounted transversely. A detail some might overlook that gave the original Mini its massive cabin. Being able to set up a Lego picnic after a morning cruise is a nice touch that could have just as easily been forgotten. As for things forgotten, an actual spare tire has been replaced in many cars, but not this Mini. I also thought that, since I am an US citizen, my Mini should be left hand drive. The swap was very easily achieved even if the instructions told me to make it right hand drive.
I do have a few nits to pick though. The front windshield, while acceptable as a model piece, has some slop that means the kids will get pushed away from this build. The roof has a few sharp angles that, while trademark Lego, might leave some hard core model builders passing this up. On the side of the body, some of the printed pin striping doesn't quite match up. Not enough to throw off the aesthetic, but enough to notice. To me, the most grievous omission is the cabin floor. The plates stop a stud away from the door. I took a few plates and filled them in and I know the old real life Minis were not luxury vehicles, but this seems like an oversight.
Overall, this is a fantastic build. I think this would keep a teenager engaged for an afternoon and it give me a very enjoyable two hours. This will be proudly displayed on my bookshelf. Thank you Lego for a wonderful model.

Sooper Dooper Mini Cooper
I built this about 2 years ago and it was really fun to build. Lego did a really good job at making it look really realistic. I like how they added the picnic basket and blanket.
The trunk of the car is oddly spacious. I know that people who are buying a Lego set don't really care if the trunk is spacious but I still think it is pretty neat how Lego was able to make it so big and lifelike without compromising any structural stability.
I didn't notice this at first, but after reading some of the other reviews I did notice that the roof is misaligned with the windshield. Not a big deal but the roof comes off almost too easily.
Overall, it was definitely a good purchase and I am very happy with how it turned out.

Beauty...
A very satisfying model to build. Loved the fact that it had all the minutest details: from the door handles to the air conditioner vents. Building this model was the perfect way to de-stress after a long day.

Lovely Little Mini
I was given this as a present from my cousin, and I was so trilled to get it! I love English cars, and the Mini is very much a classic icon of British motoring.
First thing first, I have always said if I owned a Mini, it would have to be British Racing Green, with a white roof, and white stripes, and so this is a big tick to start with. Building the set was quite enjoyable, and the instructions were very clear. The exterior shape looked great, and the interior dash, and seats I thought were very cute details. It made a great addition to my display cabinet.
Then a couple of months later, I actually bought a 1999 Rover Mini Mk. VII, the very same model as the set. Same British Racing Green, same white roof and stripes, same interior colours, same extra fog lights. The only differences are minor, the mirror colours and alloy wheels for example, but great all the same. Both of my Minis look great, and having the same car in my garage as on my display cabinet, I can defiantly say this model is a good and accurate LEGO version of the real thing. To any motoring enthusiast, I'd defiantly recommend this set!

Adorable, mechanical, well made. Love it.
I am a big fans of mini cooper. I am really fascinating in mini cooper. when i first saw this lego mini, i wanted to own it very much. however, the price is just too expensive to me. Is not that affordable. I am sos glad my friend give me a $100 gift card, so i can buy this mini lego set.
Pretty easy to build. I think i spend less than 6 hours. while building it, i am still doing other stuff. probably should said, the maximum hours should be 2-3hours.
Very neat, very nice, i love green, especially this British green on this mini cooper.
there is one thing i don't understand, the roof top doesn't seems attached. only the back of the roof top can be attached but not the front part. i am not sure if this is the correct way to be. but is my little concert, cause the top can be remove easily.

Brilliant Build
This was for my 9 year old daughter, after completing the Camper Van last year, she wanted another challenge, She loved building the mini and seeing all the parts of the mini come together. Definitely recommend this for any expert lego maker. Looks great!!!

WRONG PARTS!!
I love this model and my opinion of it is largely very positive. I'm going to use this review to highlight a detail that most other reviewers and the official Lego picture seem to miss. The windscreens that you get are not the windscreens that you SHOULD get. If you have the model, go to page 52 in Book 2 and look at the windscreen. It says you should have 2 x 6133615. The part is 2 bricks deep at the bottom and only one row deep at the top. The ones you get are 3 rows deep at the bottom and 2 rows deep at the top. This means that both the front and back windows protrude too far into the vehicle and look a little sloppy with the overlap. If you look at the customer submitted photos closely, they indicate this mistake. Even the official photo on the main page shows the overlap on the back parcel shelf and in the front doors. Why has this not been raised before? I've contacted Lego and I'm awaiting a response. Pasting the element ID into the search function at Lego's pick-a-brick website and it returns no results, like the brick doesn't exist...? Did someone forget to design and make the part? Did you just hope nobody would notice? Attention to detail has failed here Lego. Sort it out please.

Most pleasing build ever !
The Mini Cooper is an iconic little car and this a great representation of it. It would have been nice if steering was added, but who's stopping the creative mind in adding or incorporating it from another build ?
This has to be the most pleasing build ever and deserves to be placed on any desk or shelf for all to see !

Fun build!
When I saw it in the store I wasn't sure if I wanted it or not. I liked it but I wasn't in love with it like the VW Bus but after a few more visits to the store it started to grow on me so I picked one up. The color kept me from loving it haha. I'm glad that I did though because it was a fun build and I'm really happy with it. The seats were my favorite part to build. The picnic basket accessories are adorable and I love how they store in the trunk! The quality of Legos is definitely superior. Very enjoyable, relaxing and fun experience!

Fantastic Fun
This is the first time I have used Lego in around 25 years and I only purchased as I am fan of the classic Mini. I built this slowly and videod the whole thing for fun.
Deeply impressed by the nice small touches that went into this model and the fact that it manages to get very close to the actual Mini shape, its slighty square in places.....but its made from Lego.
Easy to follow instructions and lots of fun.
Now, I am eyeing up that Tumbler!

Mini Cooper
This is a nice model to build and looks ok once complete I feel that it needed a little bit of a polish up though the steering wheel and gear lever both to big, there no sun visors rear view mirror or wipers but seems there was meant to be, the bonnet sits proud and roof not finished off on the corners, the mini badges should not be stickers, spear wheel dose not match the other 4 wheels and last of all it has a black exhaust not silver. I know it seems a lot and bit picky but this is an expert model and has a steep price to go with it I felt that it was easy to build and did not take to long. Over all this is not much harder than most of the standard Lego creator sets that iv built.

Awesome LEGO MINI
I got this item weeks b4 it came out thru VIP Program. I bought two one to keep in box and save and one to build and play with. I loved it and all the little details good work LEGO designers. Totally need to make a current MINI into a lego kit as well and in different exterior colors. I can't tell you how much fun I had putting this together reminds me of when I was a kid and had my big blue box of LEGOs to play with and design.
