LEGO The Tower of Orthanc 10237

This set is a must-have for any Lord of the Rings LEGO builder and/or collector. In the past, I had already expressed my very positive opinion about the Helmsdeep set, but this building set is even more impressive. The Tower of Orthanc is more than 70 cm tall. The design is very faithful. The building itself is beautiful and very realistically recreated. The iconic building looks quite impressive. In addition, LEGO has certainly paid attention to the details. The "Eye" of Sauron actually emits light. At the front of the tower is a beautifully constructed balcony, on which Saruman can address his Uruk-Hai troops, just as in the film. There are also several rooms, including one where gunpowder is manufactured and a library. As a bonus, there is a real Ent (Treebeard) included. The Ent is wonderfully designed. Its legs and arms can move, and the overall finish is beautiful, with a fun detail such as a mushroom on one of the Ent's "feet". The building instructions for the Ent provide inspiration to create similar Ents yourself. Grima Wormtongue and Orcs are also included, as well as the Eagle that Gandalf rescues. This set is definitely for the serious enthusiasts. I personally spent about 7 hours building this set (with more than 2400 pieces!), but it was worth it. The only downside I notice is that there are relatively few mini-figures included for such a large and expensive set. Given the size of the set, a few more Uruk-Hai figures could have been included. However, this does not detract from the fact that this set is a must-have for fans of the LEGO Lord of the Rings series. Guaranteed hours of building fun!
