Why

The delivery person put my package in the wrong mailbox. This isn't a big deal in itself, but it means the house has been empty for years and you can't get access to the package.

Not Compatible with Technic Hub

I bought this controller to drive my Off Road Buggy. The phone controls are difficult to use unless you are looking at the phone, so vehicles are just a novelty with that setup. I thought this product would at least make it fun to operate, even if its input is not proportional. Couldn't pair it with my hub, so this is just an expensive paper weight on my desk now. My suggestion to LEGO: pleases add a better manual operation option the technic input scheme, like a 4 axis proportional remote for builders interested in operating automobile and other wheeled and tracked machinery without using a scripts-only solution. I was able to get it working with 3rd party firmware, so its at least not a total loss

Almost essential!

The remote gives my child the freedom to use the hub and motor without a screen. The Powered Up app is not compatible with the tablet we have We were able to download the app on his Kindle 10, but it never ran smoothly. This left my Android phone as the only option to control the Hub and Motor. The remote control gives him the ability to play with the motor without phone. So far, we have spent about $90 for the hub, motor and remote. To me, this is a lot to pay for toys. However, I have been willing to invest in quality Lego bricks and motors to develop my son's interests. In the future, it would be great to see Lego products bundled together as an option as well.

Does not pair with general powered up blocks

I bought this thinking that we could use it to control devices without using a phone. Our younger kids don't have phones but would still like to build objects they can control. It was unclear that this only works with a train set. We thought it was a general controller for any powered up control block. It is not. Software is up to date on our various blocks. It works with the piano, but we just want to be able to make random remote control cars and such from powered up blocks which we bought separately. No instructions show how to pair this with a general block. I can get blue pairing lights blinking, but they won't connect to each other.

Decent remote for Powered Up hubs and app.

It does exactly what it's supposed to do. 6 buttons to control your Powered Up electronics.

Remote Control

LEGO seems to be lacking in giving instructions for several remote control devices. This being one and the hub another. There are no instructions on how to use them other than where to put the batteries and to push "green" button to power on. Very disappointed as LEGO is normally very good with their instruction manuals.
