The details in the building style are superb.
Challenging construction with beautiful architectural details.
Expensive, but you get what you pay for.
Definitely not cheap, but you get what you pay for. The building is very detailed and the moving parts are securely attached.
Exceptional Design Inside & Out
I became addicted to Lego starting last month during the time off work.
The Parisian Restaurant was my first Lego build. This set was retired long ago, but I was able to find a brand new set from a local seller that cost double of the original Lego price.
The Parisian Restaurant is truly beautiful inside and out: the kitchen is full of details with a chef and equipments; the indoor dining room with beautiful curtains and a wine cabinet; the romantic outdoor Alfresco dining; the second floor has a colorful artist studio and small bedroom with a fold up bed; the Parisian style architecture of the roof and the front; the details of the stairs on the side of the building and around to the 2nd floor.
In general, everything is amazing in both overall design and details.
Thank you, Jamie Berard for designing an exceptional building set. I found other sets designed by Jamie were also beautiful.
I really want some other retired sets, but I can only afford to buy a few sets as they are pricey.
I wish Lego could bring back some popular retired sets for newbies with "special higher price"?
Happy Spooky Halloween !
nice box
Lots of building fun, with many lovely details.
Chez albert
I bought this for my daughter for Christmas 2018.
And we absolutely loved it ....
Apart from the fact the restaurant looks magnificent once finished it has lots of touches that my daughter thoroughly enjoyed.
With 3 levels it incorporates a restaurant kitchen flat and art studio.
It has lots of lovely finishing touches and we found each level more captivating than the last.
A must buy for any little girl.
Pretty Parisian
I had a love/hate relationship with this build. I found some of the illustrations a little vague so had some trouble there. Once those hurdles were over, it was a very relaxing to complete.
This is the first Creator Expert set I've purchased & built. I think it's now my favorite series & look forward to building more.
I was attracted to the look of he restaurant. I thought it was a charming restaurant. As I was building it, I was imagining I was sitting on the patio sipping a glass of wine & watching life go by.
I loved the attention to detail. From the dining room to kitchen, second floor apartment to the third floor studio. My favorites have to be the kitchen & fireplaces. The ornamental work on the third floor really makes a statement. It also was very easy to assemble, which I was happy about.
I added extra flowers to the flower pots & greenery on the canopy. I also added a small flower basket at the top of the stairs on the second floor, I felt the back was pretty bare so I put a shrub between the windows. I thought the dishwasher would like to look at a little greenery!
Now... which set to get next!
Wonderful set
Very nice set. Provides hours of building fun. However, be sure to check an instruction on YouTube first, so you know how to build the set.
C’est bon!
I was reluctant to purchase this set as I found myself wondering how could they possibly have anything of interest above a Parisian Restaurant, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The amount of detail and thought that went into this set is uncanny.
The restaurant itself has an incredible amount of detail, right down to milk and cheese in the fridge, and a romantic couple in the middle of a marriage proposal.
The flat upstairs is complete with a Murphy bed and fireplace. A cozy little place for the owner/operator to live.
The rooftop loft contains an artists’ studio, including a kiln.
Overall, an incredibly personalized set; I can almost imagine the individual who would own this restaurant and live upstairs from it.
I love it. (Ignore the police officer mini fig, this is from another set I own (I stage my city a little differently)
1st set in a long time.
Boy, it must have been at least 20 years since the last time I bought myself a Lego set. I had forgotten the fun you can have with a quality set. This is a prime exemple. There were a couple of time when I was wondering some brick placement but everything became clear a couple of steps later. Overall, a great set that allowed me to pass a great grey and cold weekend!
Looks Tasty
Absolutely love this set it's a must have for detail and playability. Ok it's a little on the slim side compared to the others but all I can say is if you don't have it get it you won't be disappointed.
Very nice building, Paris restaurant, trying to build a community
Wow! That was a building experience!
It took me almost two weeks with about 2-3 hours per day, every day to build the set. But once I started I couldn't stop. Really cool set with so many tiny details. It is amazing what designers put together for this set. Loved it!
Stunning......
I've gone on a bit of a modular fest this last couple weeks after rekindling my modular addiction after putting together the Ghostbusters Firehouse.
I've built the pet shop, cinema, the restaurant and assembly square.
I'd built the cinema and pet shop years ago when they were first released so got them out of the way first.
THIS, is by far my favourite modular to date. The finished model is simply beautiful and I'm completely in love with it. It's the only one I will probably leave a review of.
It's very pretty, superb interior and exterior details, is great to play with and looks fabulous on a street.
Don't hesitate. If this set disappoints you, you are not a fan of Lego!!
Very excellent
This is my first lego set. I like it very much. Its interior and external are very refinement. When I biult it, there were a lot of surprise. It's amazing. I think I will be a lego fan because of it. Could you please open Lego stores in Netherlands? We will be very happy!
Brilliant Build
One of my favourite Lego builds ever.
The Parisian Restaurant is my first modular and I'm sad that I haven't been getting them all along. Thankfully I have another couple on the way to start my streetscape.
There are so many little details in the build; the designers have done an amazing job. You'll be surprised that you have a bunch of feather pieces that go in and make up a beautiful feature at the top of the building.
The Murphy bed in the artist's studio is genius as is the use of simple elements to create the French-feel of the facade.
I can't wait for my next modulars to arrive so I can have even more fun building!
Parfait!
I am not that familiar with building Lego sets, but I love Paris and I love to cook so I wanted to put this in my kitchen/dining area. I LOVE this set! I took to building it like a duck to orange sauce. Apparently I am a hidden Expert builder because I found it easy, addictive, and FUN to build this Paris Restaurant right in my kitchen! I have used it photographically, because I am a photographer, and I have shown it off to my friends - they think I'm nuts anyway so no harm done. If you like to build, this is a great set. (Yes, I am a grandmother and, no, I don't let anyone but me play with it.)
French Restaurant
This is a delightful project! It takes several enjoyable hours of detailed work to make this dream come true. The detail is incredible, the colors are beautiful, and the design is true to France. True mini-figures enhance the theme with several specialized parts. A grand restaurant is the final result. It looks like a place I would like to go.
My favourite... so far
This set is simply so likeable that you have to think hard to find any cons. Ok, so I don't have many sets and this was my first modular. It doesn't matter really, because when I pay this much for a toy, I always have second thoughts regardless of its quality. Right here, I have none. This is the first time I can't think of any criteria being less than 5/5.
First, the building is yummy. Quite simple really but hey, it's not Technic. Some stages may be monotonous for some people (like tiles, roof, some decorations), but they last for a few minutes and then you start doing something else. From time to time you need to stop building just to marvel at the results. That's why it took me 14 hours.
The parts are usually small, but incredibly varied. The colors I like the most are olive green and dark blue. Decorative parts are wonderful. In the kitchen there are so many accessories that you'd cook yourself some dinner straight away, if you were a minifigure. Other useful parts include lots of plants, fences, tiles, windows and of course plenty of different bricks.
THERE ARE NO STICKERS.
Minifigures are nothing special for me. They just add to the Restaurant's playability which is quite considerable. They can cook, paint, clean windows, chase a rat, ride a bike or drink so many bottles of different brands, just to fall asleep on a nearby bench.
I can guarantee you'll keep saving for another modular after getting this one.
Unbelievable detail!
My daughter and I have been building Lego for years! I am so thrilled with the detail that goes into the Parisian Restaurant! The Lego designers truly thought of everything.
- the kitchen has a tiled floor, a wall of kitchen utensils, stove and fridge that opens.
- The inside eating area - has Lego curtains! Seriously - they are made of bricks but I can totally see them swaying in the breeze! There is a wine cabinet too!
- The outside seating is adorable and totally PARIS! there is street level seating to "people watch" and an upstairs patio area!
- The second level has an apartment with a cute fireplace, stove, table and comfy chair!
- Even the back is detailed! An outside cooler - full of food, garbage can and rat!
- the attic has a little room for the "starving" art student who painting in Paris! Love it!
- The detail in the roof is amazing!
- This was an amazing build!
My daughter thought of her own story line with the mini figs -the guy is proposing, waiter is bringing wine and the love of his life (the one who got away) come roaring up on her motorbike! We adding a ton of mini figs to fill up the patio and even gave the Artist upstairs a cat!
This set is fantastic! If you have built other modulars - this is a must and you will be blown away by the detail. This set is by far our favorite!
Such a delight to build
Hi guys,
This is the first big LEGO Creator building I've bought (I have The Simpsons' house, Benny's Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP!, and the tiny toy store), and I love it! I've attached some photos. They have been processed with Photoshop so they are a bit more lively light-wise than the actual building.
I've had an almost 30 year gap in my LEGO life, so it is so much fun to have these little "Oh, I remember this construction trick" moments as well as the "Wow, they have these sorts of bricks today!" realisitions.
It took me three nights to build the Parisian Restaurant, and all went smoothly. The only part where I had difficulties was the top floor and its gable which I knocked over two times mainly because it got secured to the other walls so late. Also, I have chubby fingers... :D
The things I love about this set: The fasade details - a joy to build, and fascinating to look at; the restaurant curtains - the bricks actually, in my eyes at least, mimic the draping of the cloth (not so that it is visible but the way the bricks are layered); the olive colored bricks - what a refined tone; the rat - because I love smart rodents; the opening roof of the atelier; the fact that the minifigures have the basic LEGO face. I also love the color of the "logs" in the fireplaces. The dark chocolaty tone is so beautiful I wish I could find some other set with more of bricks with that color.
Last but not least I really appreciate all the ideas and solutions this set gives to my own LEGO buildings - the bed that rises to the wall, the rotating armchair, the decorations inside and out, and one more time: the fireplaces.
I think I will not take this building apart but rather modify it to fit the needs of my LEGO heroine and her neighbourhood. Maybe change some of the interior colors etc. The middle floor is perhaps a bit too manly for my heroine's taste...
I can wholeheartedly recommend this building to any LEGO and architecture/interior design fan.
Thanks for the experience, LEGO folks!
