Super beautiful building.

I ordered this large, expensive LEGO set for the first time and was really pleasantly surprised. It was well packaged so that the box itself remained intact. I haven't started building yet, but I'm sure it will be a very beautiful building. I'm very happy with it!

Beautiful Set

The Lego Taj Mahal is a beautiful set! I enjoyed putting it together and it is very fun to show off. Like many others, I added a lighting kit to really make it pop. Assembly is repetitive due to the nature of the symmetrical design, but I still found it enjoyable.

Worth it

This set was definitely worth the wait. This was my Christmas present this year and I just finished building it. My favourite sets are the large architectural sets. I am disappointed to see sets like Big Ben be retired but I am excited to see sets like the Rome coliseum be released. This set was fairly quick to build considering the mass of pieces but that is due to the repetition of everything. Overall I’m happy with this set and I would recommend it. The story behind the Taj Mahal is also worth sharing and quite interesting.

Looks almost as the original Taj Mahal

I had a great fun when I build it.With some difficulties it was not at all boring.To put lamps in it were challenging.If there were missing some parts it was easy to get some new for free.I bought a special nippers for plastic material.With it could I make new parts from old one`s among other things. It were instructively to build this set.

Fun & Challenging Build

I managed to buy this set 2nd hand from Marketplace for $250! I was hoping it would be a great build and the set did not disappoint. Upon completion the satisfaction of the build is a miniature wonder! Taj Mahal is an excellent build, particularly those who appreciate the architecture and the work put in by Lego themselves. One disappointing aspect for me is the main central dome. There are 'ledges' on 3 sides with only the one side flowing like all sides should. I thought I had built the dome wrongly, I checked, and my assembly is correct. I deducted a star for this. Lego set #10256 is a genuine challenge with almost 6000 pieces.

Nice set

This is a very repetitive set; each part is built around four times and then everything fits together. Once it's together it looks great though! I'd suggest lighting it, it makes it pop! It also it easy to transport as it comes apart into three pieces.

Holy cow!

This was given to me as a gift, and it was my first Expert Lego set. Wow! The completed product is breathtaking and makes a statement on display. It is extra tricky because it is monochromatic, and the symmetry means that you construct the same or similar section 2-6 times. This set has zero playability, but it wasn’t intended for that. I enjoyed building it, and I found the rotunda under the central dome to be particularly challenging. Just a warning, though- build it where you want it to stay because it doesn’t move well. (You can cry over spilled milk, but can you cry over obliterated Lego creation?)

Very fun and enjoyable build!

The 10256 Lego Taj Mahal is an incredible build. There is a lot of repetition, but it is needed. I love the details in the center of the set including the many archways. As shown in my pictures, this set is built in many sections and therefore is very maneuverable. This is a plus for me because I built movable shelves and like to change it up once in a while.

Great build plus my additional extra

Good solid challenging build, added lights to it using copper wire lights that just squeeze between the bricks, found the towers amusingly wobbly, the way it's built is clever in a modular style.

Seventh wonder of the Lego world

Great item, but some small issues. The four towers are very loose and a slight bump or movement will cause them to come apart or fall. The other issue is the four large openings. The grey bricks surrounding the openings are also loose and will not stay in place while putting this item together. Moving this item from the assemble area to my display table was also a project in its own right. The center hall is easally moved, but the four lower outer walls cannot be transported without separating them. Besides all that, the cost was worth it. This is a display piece not a play piece.

Amazing!

Extremely pleased with this; I got this as a Christmas present and it was definitely worth building. It's quite big to look at and the detail is brilliant. Even though it had several repetitive stages, it certainly put my patience to the test. It still looks phenomenal! At 16 years old, I just can't stop building Lego! Love it. This is actually the second biggest Lego model I own, in terms of pieces, my biggest being the UCS Milliennium Falcon, which I still have yet to build! The Lego team have done really well with this! My next review will probably be for the UCS Millennium Falcon!

One of the best sets ever!!

I always wanted this set, and to my surprise Lego re-issued it! I stayed up on november 27th to get it, and bought it as an early Christmas present. I build this set during the Christmas holidays. There is a fair amount of repetition in building this set, which is logical, because the Taj Mahal is a symmetrical building. So the repetition didn't bother me so much. It was also helpfull: you don't need so much space, because you can build the different parts first, and put them together later. And now it is finished, and it looks great. It is a big set, just like the large version of Sydney Opera house from a few years ago (but that one was more challenging). I hope Lego will re-issue more great sets from the past.
