very fun
It's great that you can swap them out and create something different each time. It also looks great with other botanical plants from the collection.

Perfect gift. A few nice pieces to go with the rest from this series.
I bought this set of mini bonsai trees for its aesthetic appearance and I am not disappointed. It is an excellent gift idea for a LEGO enthusiast.
Thank you
I bought the LEGO Bonsai Tree set (10281) from the Botanical Collection as a gift for myself – and I was pleasantly surprised by both the building experience and the finished result. It's ideal for relaxing, while also being a real eye-catcher on a shelf or desk. • Construction & Creative Process • The construction is pleasant and meditative, but not boring – perfect for a relaxing DIY project in the evening or on the weekend. • With around 870 pieces, the set offers some sophisticated building techniques, but remains accessible even for less experienced LEGO builders. • The interchangeable foliage (green or with pink flowers) is a great detail – especially if you want to re-design the set depending on the season or mood. • Design & Aesthetics • The finished bonsai looks elegant, modern and playful – ideal as a decorative element in the living room, office or on the windowsill. • The base in the form of a bowl with "water clay" and flower petals looks very thoughtful and completes the overall picture. • Particularly nice: The pink flowers are made from small LEGO frog elements – a witty, typical LEGO twist for adults with an eye for detail. • Gift Idea & Message • The set is a nice gift idea for adults, whether as a creative break, decoration or mindfulness gift. • It is suitable for women, men, plant lovers or LEGO fans who do not necessarily want to build something classic with wheels or figures. • Thanks to the stable design, the bonsai remains beautiful even after construction – without watering 😉 • Conclusion The LEGO Bonsai Tree (10281) is a quiet, creative and aesthetic building project that not only is fun, but also convinces as a decoration. A great set for yourself or as a gift – relaxing, stylish and durable.
I wanted to just bring this to everyone's attention that the cherry blossoms version should be called the pink frog tree. I am upset that they used frogs in this when they have a mold for buds. I absolutely hate frogs. I wish they had something else. Also I thought the piece would be more time consuming based on the amount of pieces, but 200 of those are just used as loose pieces that you put around the tree. Also 101 of the pieces are frogs! Like why frogs?! I did like building the green bonsai version though, but that one was a lot simpler than the frog version, which was upsetting
Exactly as I expected, looks great as decoration.
Fun to build.
It is so fun to watch this gorgeous piece come together. It isn't difficult - took me about three hours total - but it is filled with fun design elements and interesting pieces. I love the little pink frog leaves and how the builder is free to choose where the leaves go and how they are arranged since they are all movable. It's lifelike, classy, and looks right at home in an adult room. Even the box is nice looking. Well worth the $50!
Embark on a serene journey of creativity with the LEGO Bonsai Tree set 10281, where tranquility meets craftsmanship. My girlfriend and I recently embarked on this delightful build together, and it was an experience we won't soon forget. From the moment we opened the box, we were greeted with an array of vibrant bricks waiting to be transformed into a miniature masterpiece. As we sorted through the pieces, we couldn't help but feel a sense of calm wash over us, knowing that the next few hours would be spent in the company of each other, immersed in the world of LEGO. One of the highlights of this set is the option to choose between two beautiful finishes: the lush green of a traditional bonsai tree or the delicate pink hues of a cherry blossom tree. While I initially leaned towards the classic green, my girlfriend's choice of the cherry blossom finish added a delightful twist to our build, showcasing the versatility of this set. The build itself was a joy from start to finish. With its straightforward instructions and intuitive design, it was the perfect blend of challenge and relaxation. Each step brought us closer to completing our miniature masterpiece, and before we knew it, our bonsai tree was standing tall, a testament to our shared creativity. Now proudly displayed on our desk, our LEGO Bonsai Tree is not only a symbol of tranquility but also a conversation starter and eye-catcher. Its intricate details and striking colors never fail to draw admiration from friends and family alike. In conclusion, the LEGO Bonsai Tree set 10281 is a delightful addition to any LEGO collection. With its fun and relaxing build experience, customizable finishes, and captivating final result, it's sure to bring joy to builders of all ages. Whether you're a seasoned LEGO enthusiast or a newcomer to the hobby, this set is a must-have for anyone seeking a creative escape.
I love that the Lego give us options to change the colors of the leaves. I can remove the pink and place with green.
Pros: building the black container and the wooden pedestal thing was cool; frogs are absolutely adorable (and one of the reasons why i purchased this set); green leaves and Sakura blossoms have their own attachments to the branch ends so you can swap out in a matter of seconds without having to take anything apart, a small detail which I found very useful and well done. Cons: biggest obstacle was the darkness of the drawings in the booklet--there were no white lines delineating outlines of bricks and I had to use intuition on some steps to figure out where x brick was supposed to go. I'm 34 and have decent eyesight; I can't imagine the struggle if I didn't. That was a poor design choice on LEGO's part. Advice, LEGO: if your step has dark bricks... make white outlines so we can actually understand the illustrations. Secondly, the Sakura blossom building was so tedious. NINETY frogs and THIRTY SIX flowers. Third, my apologies to the designer of the set but the trunk build was just so chock full of random pieces. It still came together at the end and had a good trunk shape, was just as functional as it was designed to be, I just... had a hard time interpreting the logic of the shapes. Overall, underwhelming for what it is, maybe because I'm used to more intricate sets, maybe because I'm 34 and not a kid, I dunno. I won't worry about returning it since it's already built, but it definitely won't be one of my favorites.
Nice set, not difficult to build if you just follow the instructions. The leaves were a bit boring to make, but they don't all have to be the same.
Regarding the building: not difficult at all, however, the contrast between the different colors of the bricks in the instructions leaves something to be desired. Please provide more contrast! Once completed, my wife already gave it water twice!
I was so eager to buying this Lego bonsai tree set because it looked beautiful on the box. I ended up buying it for my birthday from a local Lego store. A little disappointed by the build. I first made the ceramic pot with the tree base quite easily but when it came to adding the blossoms, the tree base kept coming apart. Somehow I managed to put it together but the wiry roots look out of place. I think other Lego builders may be better at putting it together. As far as play goes, there isn't much play with the final product but it can be displayed as it still nice to look at.
I gave this as a gift to my brother and he was very happy with it! He also likes that a flowering version is included, so if it's spring, he rebuilds it into a tree. Another nice detail is that the flower buds are small frogs :)
Very nice and not easy to break.
Great little build and very easy to make it your own! I intermixed the different leaf and branch options.
I bought this bonsai build during a week off work as an activity that didn't involve a screen. It is perfect for that. It took me one evening and one morning to complete. The trunk is the hardest part to get right but it's satisfying when you get it done. I also appreciate how clever the shape of the branches are, it genuinely looks like a little tree. I chose the pink frog cherry blossom version as I find the frogs adorable and I love blossom. I also made the bottom stand which honestly completes the authenticity of the look. It now has pride of place on my at home desk.
Just Stunning a Master Piece..!!! Brilliantly designed it (!!!!!) Worthy the wait for re stocking! I bought in store by shocking surprised it! It was second re stocking since launching it in this Lego store? The nice register lady said only one left, the box had small damaged it! I said I careless give it to me! Can I buy it..!!!
