A large box and a large boat. That was the first impression :-) We were soon even more amazed by the many possibilities of this set. I have children aged 6 and 7 who were completely captivated by LEGO. This set has definitely exceeded their wildest expectations. It is a beautiful, large, and sturdy boat with several nice extras. There is a rubber boat, a submarine, a helicopter, and a ship. There are also several minifigures, a fish, a shark (with a moving mouth), and a diving cage. These extras are connected to the ship. There is a hatch where the submarine can fit. The helicopter can also land on the deck. In the middle of the boat is a large opening. So, you can also go from and to the boat through the middle of the ship. There are also 2 cranes on the ship. One very large, rotating crane that can slide over the middle of the deck. It is very fun to use this crane to lower the diving cage. There is also a smaller, flexible crane at the back, which we can use to load/unload the rubber boat. So, it is a very movable set with many vehicles, minifigures, and hatches. Building the set is clear, but it still requires some thought. The kids also enjoy it. I definitely recommend this product!!
