I’m a huge LOTR fan and was pumped when this came out to put alongside Vader. Two of the most evil villains in pop culture side by side was enough to lure me in. It took about 2 hours and was an enjoyable build. My favorite part is probably the minifig and the rubber helmet for him. I will say the spikes are super tall and nice size for a helmet.
Rubbish design, gaps everywhere and falling apart. Overall rubbish build. Very disappointed
This set, was a great build. The designers really did a great job with it. Really good easy build.

This was such a fun build! The profile and silhouette look fantastic, and the inclusion of the Sauron minifig is such a great bonus. That should be standard with all of these types of sets!
I’ll start my review by saying don’t listen to the people criticising this build it’s a lot better than most of the helmet builds, Having seen reviews on various platforms and some less than positive comments my aspirations where low but I love the lotr so bought the set , and I’m so glad I did. It’s quite an imposing set bigger than most helmet builds and looks great. People have commented on the grey not being correct but it’s perfect , depending on the lighting conditions it can cast light and dark patches and makes it look more “metallic”. Only challenging part are the angle pieces there are lots so would recommend the builder app 👍. Only criticism is price as always per piece count. Would feel better value below rrp. This would be perfect with a light brick and some red translucent pieces behind the eyes, my next mod 😀. Overall a fab build
I have had my eye on this piece since it was announced. I love Lord of the Rings and this piece is perfect decoration for a fan like me. I wasn't looking for a playset but a conversation piece. Lego you must make more of these Lego busts, they perfectly reach adults who want a decorative piece.
I was so excited when this was announced, Lord Sauron is a perfect addition to my home. The build looks well once complete but I have to express disappointment at the cost vs build time with this model, although at just over five hundred pieces it was obviously a mini build which is pricey at seventy five pounds.
Pairs especially well with Barad-dur, creating a striking combination that represents the heart of Saurons power. Fantastic collectible for anyone who appreciates the darker side of Middle earth.
The build was very tedious at some points I wont like and the abundance of grey pieces does through one off (can't really complain since its a helmet) but the set overall is by far the best in the 'helmet" Lego series. It's quite mind boggling that the very first non-Star Wars/Marvel Icon Helmet set beats the others out of the park. The inclusion of the Sauron minifigure alone is what sells the set too and I think that should become the standard from here on out! Once again Lego Lord of The Rings hits a homerun! Lego PLS PLS PLS MAKE A GRIEVOUS HELMET ICON SET!!!!!!
I'm generally clumsy and also not very strong but I can confidently say this is an excellent build. Unlike another reviewer I did not experience any bits coming off on one side as you build the other side. That being said you have to, as with any Lego build, be careful how you hold it and what you're pressing on. Once built it is about the height of a 1.8L S Quencher (including straw) so a bit pricey for what you get but, hey! It's LOTR!! I highly recommend it if you're a fan of Lego and/or LOTR.
This is a fantastic looking set considering its scale and what its trying to represent in using lego bricks topped off with a really nice minifigure. It was a straight forward build but getting some of the panels once built in place is a little tricky without it falling apart . The price is a bit hard to swallow but luckily I had enough insider points to get it for free otherwise I might not of got the set. I like to use my insider points to get things I might not necessarily buy. I'm very happy with it and looks really good on display, just a shame it doesn't have a bit more of a metallic finish to it .
It look so cool when it's done and let's talk about the mini figure in the armor is so cool and it even has a ring for him to wear I'm obsessed
Good straight forward build. If your used to doing other helmet builds, this falls in line with those others. The Sauron minifigure is nice with the mini ring of power.
Fantastic to see new ideas in the Lord of the rings theme and this helmet looks great I would 100% recommend it but probably wait till it’s on sale as it’s just a little expensive for what it is.
