A fun set to build your own festival. HOWEVER, the accompanying app was discontinued on 01-01-2022. Therefore, having the physical set no longer has any added value, as the app is no longer available. This is very disappointing from LEGO.
Huge box arrived with this boombox. Many hours of building fun, it's really great to see when it's finished. There are 4 figures included. With the instruction booklet, it's very easy to do. I find the app unclear and it's difficult to connect with the boombox. It takes a while to figure out how it all works. I must be doing something wrong, but the figure from another set also keeps appearing in the video. But that's not a problem. Overall, it's a very nice set that is definitely worth the money.
I expected more from this. It's quite an expensive set with only around 1000 pieces, and you need an app to use it. It's a clever idea, but if everything actually worked, it might be worth the price. In short, we found building it very fun, but it quickly ended up back in the box.
This impressive Boombox set is the ultimate set for any true Vidiyo fan. The set contains multiple minifigures and a large number of "Beatbits". These are the type of bricks that you can use with the app to create various creative videos. The set contains a total of 4 minifigures with musical accessories, 14 random Beatbits, and 4 special Beatbits. An alien with a snowboard. A cat with a guitar. A vampire with a guitar. And a pink elf with a microphone. So, essentially, this set contains a complete set of figures. There are almost 1000 bricks in this set. Building this set takes a considerable amount of time, and you will likely spend more than an hour on it. But the result is definitely worth it. It is a sturdy "Boombox" with a nice look. It even has a handle! The Boombox set can be used in many different ways: It can be unfolded as a playset with various Podia for your corresponding LEGO minifigures. You can place multiple figures at once, as if it were a large concert stage. You also have various doors on the back that you can open to create a more traditional "dollhouse"-like play area. The backstage area for the rock stars of this set. Furthermore, the accompanying app is essential to fully utilize the set. The app works on both tablets and smartphones, but you will need a relatively recent device. You can also combine this set with other Vidiyo sets. This way, you will have more different minifigures or Beatbits.
It is really a beautiful set once it is assembled. We found it difficult to assemble it for the child, so we had to help for 3 evenings. Once it is assembled, it is sturdy and the set looks super nice. The VIP function is something they are now practicing, but this feature is really cool! We find the box to be quite expensive, but you can do a bit more with it than usual.
The LEGO boombox is a joy to see. The box itself is already quite appealing, and the children were immediately enthusiastic! It contains around 1000 pieces, so for younger children, it can be a challenge to build it completely on their own. But that doesn't make it any less fun! We managed to build it together, and they have been happily occupied with it for a couple of days. The colors are really SUPER, with the main color being black (which was a bit more difficult to work with), but the other colors are also nice and vibrant. The set is cleverly designed, and you can fold it up into a portable "radio." When you open it, you get a microphone (not red :D), a cool stage, speakers, etc. There are also 4 figures, one of which is a butterfly with wings, and another is a hard rock musician. The app... was a bit of a hassle to use, but once they got it set up, it was actually quite fun. The Beatbits were a bit of a puzzle, but the children understood them much faster than I did. In short, it's a fun set that is both visually appealing and fun to play with!
