Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions about BricksDeal: how LEGO prices, retailer data, accounts, price alerts, affiliate links and privacy work on the site.
General questions
What is BricksDeal?
BricksDeal is an independent LEGO® price tracker for the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. We follow 9 retailers and 17.2k+ sets, continuously, and show what sets really cost - with a year of price history per retailer.
We are not a web shop. You buy your set at the retailer; we help you decide where and when.
Are you connected to the LEGO Group?
No. Not at all. BricksDeal is an independent Dutch company. LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group, which does not sponsor or endorse us in any way.
Which countries do you cover?
We compare LEGO prices for three markets: the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. Every region has its own retailer list, shipping logic and price alerts, and all prices are shown in euros. Belgian visitors can switch between Dutch and French. We plan to add more European countries over time.
How much does BricksDeal cost?
Nothing. An account, price alerts, collection management and wishlists are free. We earn from transparent affiliate links, not from users.
Prices & data questions
How often are prices updated?
Every retailer is checked twice a day.
Why does your price sometimes differ from the shop?
In about 5% of cases there is a delay between a retailer price change and our update.
See a clearly different price? Report it via the form and we will correct it once we have checked the issue.
What does "lowest price" mean?
It is the lowest price we have stored in our own price history for that set. It is not a guarantee that the set has never been cheaper anywhere.
Are your 'recommended prices' correct?
We take the recommended retail price from the LEGO website at the moment of release. It changes sometimes - for example with a mid-cycle price increase - and then we update it.
How do you calculate 'discount'?
Discount is always against the current official LEGO recommended price (not against a historically higher price at the retailer). That is more conservative than what retailers themselves report - deliberately.
Account & alerts questions
How do I set up a price alert?
Open the set page, click 'Set alert', choose your target price or discount, and pick how you want to be notified (email, push, or both). From that moment we measure.
Will I get spam if I sign up?
No. Email is opt-in. You only receive price alerts you create yourself and, if you enable it separately, the daily email with the best deals of the day. You can turn either off at any time.
How does passwordless sign-in work?
We use magic links and 6-digit codes. No password, no fuss. You can also sign in with Google if that is easier for you.
How do I delete my account?
Settings -> Danger zone -> Delete account. Access and alerts stop immediately. Your account data remains recoverable for 30 days before permanent deletion. Immediate deletion requires a fresh email code.
Affiliate & money questions
Do you earn from my click?
Yes - if you actually buy something at the retailer. Then we receive a fee from the retailer, not from you. Your price stays the same.
Does that determine what I see?
If something is an advertisement, we mark it clearly. Regular price comparisons stay separate from paid placements.
Why do I not see retailer X?
Two possible reasons: (1) they did not pass our verification (price errors, stock lies, unfulfilled brand), or (2) we are still working on it. The retailers page shows who is being added.
Are all links affiliate links?
No, not all. For retailers without a program we link directly. For retailers with a program we use the affiliate link - always marked. Your price does not change because of it.
Data & privacy questions
What data do you collect?
Only what is necessary: email address for alerts, which sets you follow, your collection status (if you use it), and privacy-conscious product analytics. No Google Analytics and no advertising pixels.
For usability research we may use Microsoft Clarity in no-cookie mode, so we can see where pages get stuck without building ad profiles. We keep a log file with IP addresses for 14 days for security, after which it is automatically removed.
Do you use cookies?
One functional cookie (to keep you signed in). No marketing cookies. Microsoft Clarity receives a denied cookie-consent signal by default, so Clarity cookies are not set unless explicit consent exists.
Is my collection public?
No, private by default. You can give a collection or wishlist a share link (optional), but nobody sees your collection without you deliberately sharing it.
Technical questions
Do you have an app?
No. The site works as a PWA - installable via your browser on iOS and Android. For 90% of needs that suffices. Native apps are not in scope right now.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. BricksDeal scales from phone to desktop. Price alerts, collection and search all work on small screens, no separate download.
I saw a bug. What do I do?
Send a short note to hello@bricksdeal.com or use the form. A screenshot helps, but it is not required.
