Dream or Nightmare: pick the side
DreamZzz splits into two halves with opposite looks: the bright Dream sets around Mateo and Z-Blob, and the dark Nightmare sets around the Nightmare King. 71515 Tiger Shark Tank, at 1,548 pieces, is the largest DreamZzz set ever released. An armoured tank construction with tiger-head elements and a functional drive mechanism. If you want one DreamZzz flagship for 2026, this is the answer.
Worth noting: all four 2026 sets are vehicles or construction vehicles. DreamZzz is shifting steadily away from play-scale dioramas towards large display models. That suits collectors but is less ideal for young children who mainly want to play.
Dream world: Mateo, Cooper and Zoey
The 2025 sets form the core of the dream side:

My honest recommendation for the dream side: start with 71491 Mateo Race Car. Choosing Z-Blob as the starting point is no coincidence: he is the most photogenic and recognisable element of the series. If the recipient already watches the Netflix show, this is their first recognition point in brick.
Nightmare sets
Three active Nightmare sets in 2026:
- 71500 Nightmare Shark Submarine (1,413 pieces, 2025): largest Nightmare set, dark palette in black and deep red.
- 71513 Nightmare Scorpion Digger (505 pieces, 2026): smaller, more affordable Nightmare entry.

DreamZzz is a younger theme than Ninjago or City, so the price-drop curve hasn’t fully played out. The 2025 sets (71491, 71497, 71499) have nudged below RRP at Amazon.nl and Bol.com and are now the sharpest entry point. With the 2026 line it usually takes until late in the year before the first real discount lands.
