One Piece has been the world’s best-selling manga for years, and thanks in part to the live-action series on Netflix, Luffy’s straw hat is now recognised well beyond the anime crowd. LEGO joined in on 1 August 2025 with a first wave of five sets covering the East Blue saga, from Luffy’s home village to the floating restaurant the Baratie.
April 2026 brought the announcement of the second wave: Into the Grand Line, seven new sets arriving on 1 August 2026. For Dutch buyers this is the moment to take stock: wave 1 is heavily discounted, wave 2 is open for pre-order.
This guide is written for buyers in the Netherlands. On 12 June 2026 BricksDeal tracked the five wave 1 sets at over thirty Dutch shops; the Season 2 sets can currently be pre-ordered at two to three shops, a number that will grow towards release. We ranked the sets by current lowest price, RRP, availability, minifigures and collector value — and for the pre-orders, by whether ordering now is sensible at all.

The common thread: you buy wave 1 on price, you buy Season 2 on patience. The five 2025 sets all sit well below RRP and are widely available; the new wave is not in hand until 1 August and will almost certainly get cheaper after that. Only once you have made that distinction does the choice within each wave become a matter of taste and budget.
How we rank One Piece sets
We combine set data with editorial weighting. BricksDeal curates price, stock and set information from multiple sources and compares it with the current lowest price, RRP and retailer availability. We then judge whether the set genuinely fits whoever is actually buying it — and with One Piece, that is strikingly often the fan themselves rather than a parent.
The weighting consists of six signals:
- current lowest price versus RRP;
- price per piece, especially on the big boxes;
- number of retailers with stock or pre-orders;
- minifigures: how many characters, and how exclusive are they?
- build and display value for an adult buyer;
- how directly the set captures the series.
Collector value weighs heavier with One Piece than with the average theme. The audience is largely fans aged 18 to 35 buying for themselves, and that group looks at a box differently from the average toy shopper: minifigures and display value count, play features barely register. One practical caveat on the pre-orders: with two or three sellers per set, Season 2 pricing is still thin. We factor that in by deliberately placing the new wave below the widely available wave 1 sets — not because the sets are lesser, but because a price is only reliably low once dozens of shops are competing for it.
Wave 1: all of East Blue, well below RRP
The first wave arrived on 1 August 2025 and tells the East Blue saga in five sets: the village with the windmill where it all starts, Buggy’s circus tent, Arlong Park, the Going Merry and the Baratie. Ten months later the price picture is remarkable: all five sit between a third and well over half below RRP. Anime licences traditionally drop fast in the Netherlands, and One Piece has proven no exception — more like a confirmation.
The outlier is the Going Merry, which at −28% below RRP carries the biggest discount in the entire line. But the Baratie, by far the most expensive box, has become a reasonable sum too at well over a third off; per piece you pay less than for many a city set. For buyers this price picture mainly means one thing: do not pay RRP for any wave 1 set. There is always a shop sitting far below it — which shop just varies per set. A per-set price comparison therefore pays off more than loyalty to a single store. The Baratie deserves one extra footnote: it is one of the few anime sets that also works as a gift for an adult who does not know the series — more on that in our guide to LEGO gifts for adults.
Season 2: pre-order Into the Grand Line or wait?
The second wave was announced in April 2026 and arrives on 1 August 2026. Into the Grand Line follows the story beyond East Blue: Loguetown and the first islands of the Grand Line, with the castle on Drum Island, Doctor Hiriluk’s hideout, the duel between the giants Dorry and Brogy, Captain Smoker, a buildable Tony Tony Chopper and Vice Admiral Garp’s warship. What stands out about the Dutch pre-orders: not a single set sits at RRP. The few shops already taking orders price them thirteen to over twenty percent below it, with Battle at Drum Castle as the sharpest offer. That is unusual for an unreleased licensed wave — and it says something about what will happen after launch.
Our take is sober: for most buyers, pre-ordering is not urgent. The history of wave 1 shows prices diving well below RRP within months of release, and there is little reason to assume wave 2 will behave differently. Pre-ordering mainly makes sense in two cases: you want a set guaranteed on release day, or you are after Garp’s warship — the biggest model of the wave, with eight minifigures you cannot get anywhere else, and at the same time the set with the fewest sellers.
Two side notes deserve a mention. The Gum-Gum Fruit (set 75647, 482 pieces) belongs to the same wave: a devil fruit that opens up, with two Luffy minifigures included. In our data that set has no Dutch stock or pre-order price yet, so it stays outside the ranking until that changes. And for anyone who only wants something small: two BrickHeadz figures of Luffy and Buggy appeared in 2025 — fun for the shelf, but not full sets.
Starting small with One Piece
Not everyone starts with a thousand-piece ship. For anyone who wants to sample the line first, the Windmill Village Hut is the natural starting point: the cheapest set, the start of the story and widely stocked. Buggy’s circus tent is the logical second step, with more size and the most entertaining villain of the first wave. And anyone keen to jump straight into the new wave can pre-order Dr. Hiriluk’s Hideout as the smallest entry into Season 2.
For parents buying for a teenager, this is also the safest zone: the entry sets are affordable, instantly recognisable to anyone who watches the series and require no building experience. Where to buy LEGO One Piece in the Netherlands
The wave 1 sets are stocked widely. Bol.com usually carries the full line-up, Amazon.nl alternates sharp day prices with delivery times worth watching, and LEGO.com is the surest place for the newest sets — at RRP, but without stock risk. Behind them sit Proshop, GoodBricks, Alternate, Conrad, MediaMarkt and Coppens Warenhuis with aggressive per-set prices that rotate; that last group regularly delivers the lowest price of the moment.
For the Season 2 pre-orders the picture is narrower: two to three shops currently take orders, with coverage growing towards 1 August. Our advice is unchanged: pick the set first, compare second. When to buy and when to wait
Buying makes sense for wave 1: discounts of a third to well over half rarely go deeper outside Black Friday, and the Going Merry regularly sells out temporarily at the cheapest sellers. Anyone who wants that ship should not deliberate too long. Waiting pays for Season 2: the pre-order prices are already sharp, but if the new wave follows the price path of the first, the floor will not arrive until months after release.
For the planners: the next logical peak moment for the Season 2 sets is the run of weeks around Black Friday in November, when even fresh waves traditionally get their first proper round of discounts. If your purchase is not tied to a birthday or holiday, simply let the market do the work.
If you do not want to check prices daily, set a free price alert on the set you want: you automatically get a message the moment a shop lowers the price. For the Season 2 sets that is the most relaxed route — and if you do order early, at least you know you are not paying more than necessary.

Season 2: Into the Grand Line
The second wave was announced in April 2026 and follows the story onto the Grand Line. A handful of Dutch shops are already taking pre-orders — remarkably, all of them below RRP.
