May is usually a quieter LEGO month, but 2026 was busier than average. It started with Star Wars Day, followed by a large Disney and LEGO Editions block, two Ferrari helmets, new minifigures and, on 7 May, the Jurassic Park Jeep Wrangler.
Now that the sets have been out for over two months, the interesting question is no longer what launched, but what it did. And that splits cleanly in two: the broadly stocked sets dropped hard, the exclusives held their price.

What launched, and where the price sits now

That pattern is the whole message of this recap: waiting paid off. Anyone who didn’t specifically need the LEGO.com gifts in May now pays less on almost every set.
Star Wars Day: the exclusive held, the small ones didn’t
The big release was 75442 The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter (1,809 pieces, € 219.99). LEGO tied Star Wars Day gifts to it: the Mandalorian and Grogu display with the Starfighter, a Darksaber on Star Wars purchases from 160 euros, and a Razor Crest minimodel from 40 euros. That made buying on day one defensible at the time if you genuinely wanted those gifts.
Two months on, the picture is clear. The N-1 Starfighter is still near RRP with a handful of sellers: a classic exclusive pattern. The smaller sets around Star Wars Day did the opposite and fell away sharply at Dutch shops.
That’s exactly why you shouldn’t only look at LEGO.com around Star Wars Day. The gifts were there, but the sharp prices came later, at the retailers.
Disney, football and helmets: the block worth buying now
The Disney list was stronger than an average monthly release. The Toy Story Slinky Dog Bookends (43301) were the headliner and now sit −28% below RRP, currently € 108.46. Blaze’s Horse Ranch and the Alien Pizza Planet Rocket Ride dropped along with them. The exception is Lotso (43306): that small set is hard to find at the few remaining sellers and sits above RRP there, a sign it has largely sold through.
The LEGO Editions football sets deliberately aimed at adult fans too: Football Highlights of Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappé and Vini Jr., plus larger Legend and Celebration models. Exactly the kind of category where RRP said little in the first days. Two months on the whole line sits around 30 to 35 percent below RRP, with the Messi Football Highlights at −40% below.
The two Ferrari helmets (43014 Leclerc, 43022 Hamilton) followed the same path: the Leclerc helmet now sits at € 55.99.
The Jurassic Park Jeep: still at RRP
The big later release was the Jurassic Park Jeep Wrangler (77984), an 18+ display model with a 7 May release date. Unlike the Disney and football block, it hasn’t dropped: it sits at RRP at a small number of shops. Large 18+ vehicles sometimes reach broader availability after their exclusive or selective launch phase, but two months on that hasn’t happened here. Waiting for a price drop can take longer with this one than with the rest of the month.
What this recap teaches you for the next wave
The lesson from May applies to any release: you buy new LEGO on release day for access and gifts, not for the lowest price. For the lowest price you want market data and several Dutch shops competing with each other. That held in May, and it’ll hold again for the big August wave.
If you still want one of these May sets, set a price alert: the broadly stocked sets will slide a little further towards Black Friday, while the exclusives risk selling out before they’re ever marked down.
