Een hoogwaardige en nostalgische LEGO-set die perf
Ik ben positief verrast door deze LEGO Game Boy set. De kwaliteit is wat je van LEGO mag verwachten: stevig, netjes afgewerkt en met veel oog voor detail. Het bouwen was leuk en ontspannend, met duidelijke instructies en slimme bouwtechnieken. De knoppen zijn herkenbaar vormgegeven en geven echt dat nostalgische Game Boy-gevoel. Ook de grafische weergave is sterk: het scherm en de cartridges zijn prachtig nagemaakt en zorgen direct voor herkenning bij iedereen die ermee is opgegroeid. Het gewicht voelt prettig aan; niet te licht, waardoor het degelijk aanvoelt, maar ook niet te zwaar om neer te zetten of te verplaatsen. Het geluid is uiteraard niet functioneel, maar het design roept meteen herinneringen op aan de iconische klikjes en tonen van vroeger. Een echte eyecatcher voor gamers én LEGO-liefhebbers, en perfect als displaymodel. Absoluut een aanrader voor iedereen die houdt van nostalgie en kwaliteit.
Alsof je een echte gameboy in handen hebt
Echt een gave set. Brengt je terug naar de jaren 90. Zo vergelijkbaar en realistisch met de echte gameboy.
Het begint al bij het maken van de diskette van het spel. Super gaaf! Om vervolgens de console tot leven te zien komen. Echt vet. De knoppen zijn realistisch. De schermen welke toegevoegd zijn, lijken net echt. Kortom een ware LEGO Gameboy welke in elke ruimte goed staat. De gameboy voelt ook fijn in de hand. Lijkt net of je echt kunt gamen.
Stabiel, sterk en mooi gemaakt.
Ook de aan uit knop is zeer echt.
Nintendo nostalgie
Onze 12-jarige heeft de LEGO Nintendo Game Boy helemaal zelf gebouwd en was er volledig in opgezogen. Hij heeft hem niet weggelegd tot hij helemaal af was.
De handleiding kan beter. Sommige kleuren in het boekje komen niet goed overeen met de echte Lego steentjes, wat een paar stappen onnodig verwarrend maakt.
Het eindresultaat ziet er fantastisch uit. Het detailniveau is spot-on, de knoppen werken en het voelt echt als de originele Game Boy. Mijn man dacht zelfs even dat hij echt was, en het bracht meteen herinneringen terug uit zijn tienerjaren.
Al met al een geweldig cadeau: leuk om te bouwen en een schot in de roos voor iedereen die is opgegroeid met Nintendo.

Just like the real thing
They nailed it with this set. The nostalgic look and feel to this were above expectations. Everything from the dials, working buttons and controls to the on/off switch and all the printed pieces for volume, contrast etc. Definitely a fun build and look great on the shelf, would recommend to anyone who enjoys a little nostalgia.

Ik koop woensdag de Lego gameboy op Bol voor 39,99.Vandaag (Black Friday) kost dezelfde legoset 45. En daar is zelfs een radiospotje bij: “enkel vandaag 20 procent op lego adults, speciaal voor Black Friday”. Dus beter wachten op de reguliere prijs lol.
Fantastisch leuk!
Geweldig en zo goed nagemaakt op de echte oude Nintendo! Ware grote. Heb er veel plezier van gehad met in elkaar zetten. En staat nu leuk in mijn kast.
Mooie set maar toch een klein minpuntje

Fun build and amazing design
I had the honor of putting together the LEGO Game Boy and this thing is seriously awesome. The holographic backgrounds are such a cool touch — when you tilt it, the scenes actually shift like an old-school screen coming to life. The buttons even move like a real Game Boy, and the little dials on the side actually turn!! When I first saw LEGO dropped this set I wasn't too excited but after seeing it built I am truly impressed.
My favorite part? The squishy buttons. They nailed that classic Game Boy feel and it makes it so much more fun to play with and display. My millennial heart is bigger after building this set.
It was pretty easy to put together. As it was coming together I started getting super excited. Definitely a solid design!
Nintendo Gameboy
This set is a love letter for Nintendo fans. 😄 Now, this obviously isn’t a fully functioning Gameboy, but the design and engineering of this set are amazing, and the build is a lot of fun. I found myself really impressed by some of the building techniques they used in this kit. The buttons are all pushable, the dials can be turned, the on/off switch can be flipped back and forth, and it even has a compartment in the back for a game cartridge to go in. Speaking of, you get two game cartridges, as well as three interchangeable lenticular screens. You also get a display base for the Gameboy itself, and one for whichever cartridge isn’t in the Gameboy. $60 for a set with 421 pieces may seem a bit high, but given how detailed the finished set it, I honestly think that it’s worth the price. I feel like this set is must have for longtime Nintendo fans.
My Take on the Lego “Game Boy”
This was surprisingly one of not the best set I’ve ever had and the funnest to build. For how good the quality is and how fun it is to play with the Lego “Game Boy” after I was does it is definitely worth the $59.99. In recent years, Lego has raised prices brutally. It feels like for a small, cheep, and shotty toy / gift isn’t worth paying the price anymore, but this build gave me a new hope. I could not believe how amazing this build truly was. The first thing I did when I was done was write this review on how good it is. If you are looking for a gift to give for Christmas, Easter, Hanukkah, or any holiday. This is the gift to get.
Amazing
I still have one of the real working ones. This set is just amazing. I am impressed with how realistic it looks, feels, and moves. This is definitely one of my favourite sets (and I literally have tens of thousands of dollars of Lego) due to the detail that has gone into the design. Family and friends have actually been fooled, thinking it was a real one. Great build, highly recommend.

This was small build compared to my normal purchases , but I still found it entertaining and interesting . and importantly enjoyable !
Very impressed with the finished product and when I showed my wife she thought it was an actual Game Boy ! , like the extra game cartridge and that you can change the "screens" if you want to
I think for a small set this is really good , and good value in my eyes , it now proudly sits alongside my larger Nintendo and Atari and Pac Man builds

Great build from start to finish. Heaps of great techniques used to hide all the studs and have an accurate game boy with functional buttons.
This is easily a top 5 set of the year for me and may be a contender for my 2025 set of the year. Affordable. Great building experience and a great display piece. I recommend anyone to get this set from beginner lego fans to hardcore collectors. Even if your not a big lego collector this will look great in any Nintendo or video game collection. I can't recommend enough.
Good Lego product, bad shipping logistics .
I was waiting for this set, very happy and enthusiastic, even though it took 3 weeks from shipment to delivery. Sadly after waiting for so long, I got a destroyed set in the mail. It arrived completely crushed and unusable. The process to try to return it was very difficult and had to end up calling (since the system kept me going on circles) and wasting almost an hour trying to get the support needed; time that I had separated to actually build the set. Disappointed 😞.
