A high-quality and nostalgic LEGO set that is perfect
I am pleasantly surprised by this LEGO Game Boy set. The quality is what you would expect from LEGO: sturdy, neatly finished, and with a lot of attention to detail. Building it was fun and relaxing, with clear instructions and clever building techniques. The buttons are recognizable in shape and really give that nostalgic Game Boy feel. The graphic representation is also excellent: the screen and cartridges are beautifully reproduced and immediately recognizable to anyone who grew up with them. The weight feels good; not too light, which makes it feel sturdy, but also not too heavy to put down or move around. The sound is, of course, not functional, but the design immediately evokes memories of the iconic clicks and sounds of the past. A real eye-catcher for gamers and LEGO enthusiasts, and perfect as a display model. Absolutely recommended for anyone who loves nostalgia and quality.

As if you were holding a real Game Boy.
Really a great set. It takes you back to the 90s. So similar and realistic with the real Game Boy.
It starts with making the game diskette. Super cool! Then you get to see the console come to life. Really awesome. The buttons are realistic. The screens that are added look just like the real ones. In short, a true LEGO Game Boy that looks great in any room. The Game Boy also feels good in your hand. It feels like you can really play.
Stable, strong and beautifully made.
The on/off button is also very realistic.

Nintendo nostalgia
Our 12-year-old built the LEGO Nintendo Game Boy completely on his own and was completely engrossed in it. He didn't put it down until it was completely finished.
The instructions could be better. Some of the colors in the booklet don't match the real LEGO bricks, which makes a few steps unnecessarily confusing.
The final result looks fantastic. The level of detail is perfect, the buttons work, and it really feels like the original Game Boy. My husband even thought it was real for a moment, and it brought back memories from his teenage years.
Overall, a great gift: fun to build and a hit for anyone who grew up with Nintendo.

They nailed it with this set. The nostalgic look and feel to this were above expectations. Everything from the dials, working buttons and controls to the on/off switch and all the printed pieces for volume, contrast etc. Definitely a fun build and look great on the shelf, would recommend to anyone who enjoys a little nostalgia.

Perfection
Two of my favorite things from childhood put together: Lego and Gameboy! As a kid of the 90s, I loved this set. It was challenging to put together and the finished piece is display worthy.

an amazing, nostalgic build that brings hours of s
I'm thrilled to share my thoughts on the LEGO Game Boy! I received it for free from Influenster for my honest review. This set is a nostalgic dream come true, taking me back to the good old days of playing with the original Game Boy.
But it's not just about nostalgia - it's an amazing build that brought hours of joy to my 9-year-old son! He had a blast putting it together, and the best part? No screens involved! It's a fantastic way to encourage creativity, problem-solving, and quality time.
I highly recommend the LEGO Game Boy to anyone looking for a unique and engaging experience. It's a great way to share your love of gaming with the next generation, and it's just plain fun! My son is already planning his next LEGO build, and I'm excited to see what he comes up with next.

Lego is always fun for the family.
I am so glad that I got the opportunity to try out the Lego Game Boy. My daughter is working on it as I am writing the review. The setup is fun. The pieces are easy to put together. The Lego brand is a staple in my family. I love that this brand is made for the whole family. I will definitely recommend this to anyone.

Love it
The LEGO Game Boy is a charming, display-worthy build that perfectly captures the nostalgic look of Nintendo’s classic handheld. The detailing is impressive—from the iconic D-pad and buttons to the cartridge slot—and the build feels satisfying without being overly complex. the buttons work, and screens in the unit look like moving games. While it’s more of a collector’s display piece than a play feature set, fans of retro gaming and LEGO alike will appreciate its accuracy and clever construction techniques. A fun, nostalgic addition to any shelf.I would absolutely recommend this for fans of games and fans of Lego alike.

Black Friday?
I bought the LEGO Game Boy on Wednesday for 39.99 on Bol. Today (Black Friday), the same LEGO set costs 45. And there's even a radio ad: "only today, 20 percent off LEGO adults, specially for Black Friday". So it's better to wait for the regular price, haha.

Fantastic fun!
Great and very accurately reproduced, just like the real old Nintendo! A very large size. I had a lot of fun putting it together. And it now looks great in my cabinet.

Nice set, but there is still one small downside.
Nice LEGO set, but the plastic glass is not very clear, and there are some strange spots on it.

Fun build and amazing design
I had the honor of putting together the LEGO Game Boy and this thing is seriously awesome. The holographic backgrounds are such a cool touch — when you tilt it, the scenes actually shift like an old-school screen coming to life. The buttons even move like a real Game Boy, and the little dials on the side actually turn!! When I first saw LEGO dropped this set I wasn't too excited but after seeing it built I am truly impressed.
My favorite part? The squishy buttons. They nailed that classic Game Boy feel and it makes it so much more fun to play with and display. My millennial heart is bigger after building this set.
It was pretty easy to put together. As it was coming together I started getting super excited. Definitely a solid design!

Nintendo Gameboy
This set is a love letter for Nintendo fans. 😄 Now, this obviously isn’t a fully functioning Gameboy, but the design and engineering of this set are amazing, and the build is a lot of fun. I found myself really impressed by some of the building techniques they used in this kit. The buttons are all pushable, the dials can be turned, the on/off switch can be flipped back and forth, and it even has a compartment in the back for a game cartridge to go in. Speaking of, you get two game cartridges, as well as three interchangeable lenticular screens. You also get a display base for the Gameboy itself, and one for whichever cartridge isn’t in the Gameboy. $60 for a set with 421 pieces may seem a bit high, but given how detailed the finished set it, I honestly think that it’s worth the price. I feel like this set is must have for longtime Nintendo fans.

My Take on the Lego “Game Boy”
This was surprisingly one of not the best set I’ve ever had and the funnest to build. For how good the quality is and how fun it is to play with the Lego “Game Boy” after I was does it is definitely worth the $59.99. In recent years, Lego has raised prices brutally. It feels like for a small, cheep, and shotty toy / gift isn’t worth paying the price anymore, but this build gave me a new hope. I could not believe how amazing this build truly was. The first thing I did when I was done was write this review on how good it is. If you are looking for a gift to give for Christmas, Easter, Hanukkah, or any holiday. This is the gift to get.

Amazing
I still have one of the real working ones. This set is just amazing. I am impressed with how realistic it looks, feels, and moves. This is definitely one of my favourite sets (and I literally have tens of thousands of dollars of Lego) due to the detail that has gone into the design. Family and friends have actually been fooled, thinking it was a real one. Great build, highly recommend.

Looks like a real one !
This was small build compared to my normal purchases , but I still found it entertaining and interesting . and importantly enjoyable !
Very impressed with the finished product and when I showed my wife she thought it was an actual Game Boy ! , like the extra game cartridge and that you can change the "screens" if you want to
I think for a small set this is really good , and good value in my eyes , it now proudly sits alongside my larger Nintendo and Atari and Pac Man builds

+1 UP
Quality! Quality!Quality.
Great build from start to finish. Heaps of great techniques used to hide all the studs and have an accurate game boy with functional buttons.
This is easily a top 5 set of the year for me and may be a contender for my 2025 set of the year. Affordable. Great building experience and a great display piece. I recommend anyone to get this set from beginner lego fans to hardcore collectors. Even if your not a big lego collector this will look great in any Nintendo or video game collection. I can't recommend enough.

Good Lego product, bad shipping logistics .
I was waiting for this set, very happy and enthusiastic, even though it took 3 weeks from shipment to delivery. Sadly after waiting for so long, I got a destroyed set in the mail. It arrived completely crushed and unusable. The process to try to return it was very difficult and had to end up calling (since the system kept me going on circles) and wasting almost an hour trying to get the support needed; time that I had separated to actually build the set. Disappointed 😞.

Brick-Built Nostalgia Reborn
The LEGO Nintendo Game Boy (Set 72046) is more than a nostalgic recreation, it’s a faithful monument to one of the most recognizable devices of the late 20th century. At 421 pieces, it captures the Game Boy’s proportions and texture with remarkable precision, from the muted gray casing and magenta buttons to the subtle curvature of the shell. LEGO’s layering technique mimics how the real handheld was constructed front plate, internals, and screen giving the build a satisfying sense of authenticity. The tactile process of assembling it mirrors the same deliberate, patient rhythm that once defined handheld gaming itself.
For anyone who grew up borrowing a sibling’s Game Boy, this build feels deeply personal. The act of clicking the D-pad into place or slotting in the miniature cartridges The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and Super Mario Land sparks muscle memory. The result is both sculpture and time capsule, blending the physical feel of LEGO with the emotional charge of retro gaming. The subtle screen tint, minimal sticker use, and iconic “Dot Matrix with Stereo Sound” text elevate the model from novelty to art piece, proving that nostalgia and design precision can coexist without compromise.
Displayed on its stand, the LEGO Game Boy commands quiet respect. It doesn’t rely on lights or sound to impress; its realism does the work. Each angle evokes a different era of play; car rides, late nights, and shared cartridges traded between siblings. For builders, collectors, or lifelong Nintendo fans, it represents a rare convergence of childhood memory and modern craftsmanship. LEGO distilled an entire generation’s gaming history into one handheld model, and the result is as emotionally powerful as it is technically accomplished.
