July is the quietest point of the entire LEGO year. Between the summer leftovers of June and the big 1 August wave, LEGO launches almost nothing, and what does appear are small Botanicals or Friends sets. If you’re waiting on new material, you can skip the month.
As a buying window, though, July is one of the best-timed of the year. First-half sets are now at their lowest point before Black Friday, and LEGO.com held its Insiders Days at the start of the month. Here’s how to use those two things without wasting budget on the August wave.

What actually happens in July 2026
New releases aren’t the story this month. What matters are two things that have nothing to do with launch day: a gift promo at LEGO.com and the run-up to August.
LEGO.com ran its Insiders Days from 7 to 12 July, with a free Sea Serpent above a spend threshold and double points on a range of themes. Promos like that are only worth money if you were already going to buy something; a free polybag is never a reason to order a set you’d have left on the shelf. What’s claimable at any point changes week to week, so check the GWP calendar before you check out.
July is also when Insider pre-orders for 1 August open, usually in the second half. For the big themes, that’s the real moment to act, not 1 August itself.
The sharpest discounts of the half-year are here now
This is the real reason to buy in July. Sets that appeared between January and May have now sat on shelves for three to six months. Shops clear that stock to make room for August, and that pushes prices deeper than anywhere else between summer and November.
A few spring sets show how far that has gone:
- The Toy Story Slinky Dog Bookends (43301) were the Disney headliner at RRP in May and now sit −23% below it, currently € 114.95.
- The Coast Guard Rescue Boat & Helicopter (60504) from the June wave has dropped to € 78.89, or −28% below RRP.
- The LEGO Editions football sets fell hard: the Lionel Messi Football Highlights (43011) sits −33% below RRP.
- The Charles Leclerc (43014) Ferrari helmet followed too: currently € 65.49.
- And among the small Star Wars Day sets, Grogu’s Homestead (75443) is now −25% below RRP, the cheapest way to grab something from that wave.
The pattern repeats every year: widely stocked sets drop, exclusives don’t. The N-1 Starfighter that LEGO tied to Star Wars Day is still near RRP with a thin set of sellers. If you want that one, waiting for a July clearance gets you nowhere.
If you want something small for the summer itself, the shortlist above is the safest route: three of the four already sit below their spring price. Only the Mountain Bike Adventure Van is still at RRP, simply because just a couple of shops carry it.
What not to buy in July
Anything launching on 1 August. On that day dozens of sets appear at once, and until then there’s no legitimate way to get them below the RRP they’ll carry anyway. The One Piece Season 2 wave, for instance, is set for 1 August; what’s worth it and what to wait on is in our One Piece buying guide.
If budget is tight, leave the exclusives alone: they won’t move in price this month. Your euros do more on the spring sets that have already dropped.
Getting ready for 1 August
The August wave is too big to walk into unprepared. Three things you sort out this month save you money and hassle in August:
- Register as a LEGO Insider at LEGO.com so you’re in for the pre-orders that open late July.
- Make a shortlist of at most three sets you’ll buy on availability. Everything else you buy on price, later.
- Set price alerts on the first-half sets you still want, so you don’t miss a further clearance once August shifts attention.

Cosmos Flowers now sits below its spring price: a summery 171-piece bunch of flowers for anyone who wants a small build without waiting for August.
Forest Tea Party is the light gift pick for a summer birthday: 116 pieces, and it has slipped a few euros below RRP.
Mountain Bike Adventure Van is still at RRP at only a handful of shops. Put it on alert; it won't drop until more retailers stock it.
The Colorful Creative Box is a DUPLO tub of loose bricks that discounts often: already well below RRP, and a fine top-up for an existing tub.
