June was exactly what you’d expect from the month: small. Two sets that genuinely mattered, the summer GWP at LEGO.com, and otherwise mostly waiting for August. Now that the month is behind us, the useful question is no longer what appeared, but what it did.
The answer is short: both June sets have dropped to around 30 percent below RRP, and the GWP week was the month’s only real buying moment.

The two sets that appeared
June brought no flagships. It was a City and a Friends set, both summery and both now discounted.
The Coast Guard Rescue Boat & Helicopter (60504, 742 pieces, City) sat around RRP in June and now sits −28% below it, currently € 78.89. Boat plus helicopter, five minifigures, and plenty of play value for a child of eight or up.
The Mermaid Roller Coaster Ride (42703, 864 pieces, Friends) has a surprisingly good build for the price and is a strong gift for ages 9 to 12. Currently € 70.66, or −29% below RRP.
The GWP week was the real buying moment
The reason to watch LEGO.com in June at all was the summer GWP: a gift above a spend threshold, for Insider members. As far as I’m concerned those promos come down to one rule: pair them with a purchase you were going to make anyway. A gift-with-purchase is never a reason to buy a set you’d otherwise have left alone.

What June teaches you for the rest of the year
The June sets confirm the pattern that runs through the whole series: broadly stocked City and Friends sets fall below RRP within a few months, so waiting almost always pays. If you want the very lowest price, Black Friday in November is more realistic than a summer drop.
If you want a summer gift now, both June sets are a fine choice at their current price. If you’d rather wait for the big August wave, set a price alert and read ahead in the August overview.
