September is the pivot. After the quiet summer the autumn season starts, and three things arrive at once: the August wave is finally available everywhere, five advent calendars hit the shelves, and LEGO Insider Days delivers the best offer LEGO.com has this quarter.

If you want to buy for Sinterklaas or Christmas without rushing and without sell-out risk, September is your month. The rest of this guide covers those three decisions, in order of urgency.

In the monthly series: previous August · next October · hub July.

The August wave is now in everywhere

Sets that sold out fast or went to a waiting list at LEGO.com on 1 August return in September. Amazon.nl and Bol.com fully process their August stock in weeks 1 and 2, and that’s exactly the window in which a missed flagship can still be grabbed.

The picture varies per type of set. An Icons modular usually returns first at LEGO.com itself and only later at the other shops. A popular Star Wars flagship is often in stock at Amazon.nl or Bol.com while LEGO.com is still sold out. City and Friends August sets are simply available everywhere again straight away. So if something from August is still on your list, check the retailers alongside LEGO.com in early September.

The five advent calendars of 2026

This is the release that genuinely matters in September. Five calendars appear at the big retailers, with widely differing contents:

  • 75456 Star Wars (293 pieces) is traditionally the fastest to sell out.
  • 76340 Marvel (317 pieces) is the largest of the five and popular as a gift.
  • 60510 City (252 pieces) stays available the longest, even after November.
  • 42698 Friends (211 pieces) is the logical choice for ages 6 to 10.
  • 43298 Disney Princess (290 pieces) is new for 2026 and expected to be sought-after.

The only real urgency is with Star Wars and Marvel: wait until November for those and you’ll find them sold out or second-hand only. The other three you can take more calmly. A detailed comparison is in the LEGO advent calendar guide 2026.

LEGO Insider Days: the best LEGO.com moment of the quarter

Insider Days is a 48-hour promo, exclusive to Insider members. What it historically offers: raised points bonuses (sometimes two or three times the normal points), exclusive GWP items at certain spend thresholds, and early pre-order access to autumn sets launching in October. The exact date for 2026 isn’t confirmed yet; the pattern falls somewhere between 21 September and 5 October.

The value is in the combination, not the points alone. If you already have your eye on a large set, for yourself or as a gift, plan that purchase into the promo window. Buying at random just to bank points rarely pays off.

What September already announces

September is also the month in which October takes shape. The annual Winter Village set is usually presented now via the LEGO Newsroom, with a launch in the first half of October. And the sets leaving the catalogue on 1 January 2027 are officially announced in September and October; which ones, we track in the retirement guide 2026.

Concretely for this month: pick and buy your advent calendar in the first two weeks, and hang any big purchase on Insider Days. The deeper discounts only come in October and November, so outside that there’s little reason to buy at RRP now.

Price data comes live from the set pages. Check Insider Days dates and advent availability on the day you buy.
