Great build
As a starwars fan I was very dubious of buying any of the lego starwars set but this set was brilliant all the little details and everything lego did to bring the on screen excitement of seeing an xwing go into attack mode into real life absolutely magnificent

Wonderful
Beautiful ship, especially if you are a LEGO fan. I personally buy them for a fraction of the price on AliExpress. I have never had any problems with the parts or anything... and they have a much wider selection than LEGO itself.

Unique decorative piece
Red Five is the X-wing piloted by Luke Skywalker, who destroyed the Death Star. This is the UCS version of this fantastic ship! Very beautiful and unique!

Great model but....
I felt compelled to leave this review because i have just gotten around to building this set during the pandemic. I've built many collector sets from the falcon to the batmobile to the kwik e mart ect. All these sets feature stickers which is fine for me
However in the Xwing set there are stickers included that involve cutting...which I guess is fine....the thing I find so absurd is the diagram they have for how to peel and cut the stickers and put them on....its arabic! hyrogliphs! I just cannot believe they included this instruction in the book and expected people to understand it....it really disrupted my build and frusterated me....please make your diagrams CLEAR in the future if you are going to involve all this cutting and stuff....in fact a little sentence or two describing what to do would go a long way especially when customers shell out so much for a product!
thanks for recieving the feedback lego and continuing to make amazing sets!
i leave this feedback with love only

Excellent product!
Beautiful LEGO set. It's great if you enjoy displaying sets; it's more of a collector's item than a playset! The set is very large, which I love! A downside is that a lot of plastic packaging is used to divide the parts by building phase: a good idea for easier assembly. It's a shame that LEGO does this with plastic instead of cardboard boxes. The set is also quite expensive, but if you, like me, really enjoy collector's items, it's definitely worth the price!

"Just like Beggars canyon Back Home....."
This UCS set is a great piece to get your hands on, although it's retired....it's fairly easy to acquire without breaking the bank.
This is a big set displayed...and sits Best with it's s-foils deployed in attack position.
You can fit luke in the cockpit if you want but I suggest you have him sitting on a 2x2 plate and he looks ok.
The large scale Allows for better detail throughout the Build.
There aren't that many stickers but I highly recommend you follow Lego's instructions on the canopy windscreen as well as do a little research on application tips...because it's the hardest sticker to get right...fortunately, lego provides 2 precut sticker sheets for the canopy in case you mess up the first time.
OverAll it's well worth the purchase and a great addition to your UCS collection, and if you are willing to go a little further I highly recommend building some nice landing gear(you can find that online too)...because the best view of the set in my opinion is the top view with the s-foils closed.

Lego Xwing Awesomeness.....
So my first ever Star Wars Themed lego was this bad boy..... Was lucky enough to get this a Xmas present.
Had a blast building this over the xmas break which was good as it stopped me from eating anymore food.....
The detail in the build was amazing and reminded me why this was my favorite ship from the Star wars movies......
Tried to take my time and enjoy the build, instead of smashing them out like you used to as a kid..

X-Wing Starfighter
I missed out buying this set online by the time i saw it was on Lego.com it was sold out i was lucky enough to find it locally for a great price! This was a great set to build it was fun the Wings open and close with ease i didn't have trouble applying the stickers to the cockpit (the instructions looked a little confusing at first for the stickers) its a great addition to my UCS Star Wars sets.

Great X-wing!
10240 is a thing of beauty. Wing mechanism works extremely well.
The Technic here is well-hidden. It's use is intriguing, which makes up for the sore thumbs. Mostly the build is delightful, with some fantastic SNOT-work producing the body contours, and many little surprises that will even please owners of the former, even the necessary repetition is handled in such a way as to prevent boredom.
A huge number of useful SNOT parts, jumper plates, and hinges sit alongside an array of plates, tiles, and bricks that will find a place in most collections. Technic parts may or may not be useful depending on your penchant, some rare or unique parts make this an excellent selection.
Looks great on the shelf, and is fun to fiddle with as you pass.
A superb set.
Only two minuses
- cockpit stickers
- no pilot

This is not a toy, but a collectible item.
If you are a Star Wars fan, this product might be for you. It is a collector's item and does not include torpedoes or Luke Skywalker, like the normal version. However, you will get R2D2 included. Building the X-wing is not difficult, but it is quite heavy once it is finished.

I have been building since I was a little kid. But I haven't really bought any lego for many years until I purchased this one. This set is really astounding in it's appearance and nice for displaying.
The building experience was great and one could sit the whole time from scratch without getting even the slightest bored of it.
The model is also very accurate to the original X-wing from the movie with the targeting-computer, cockpit and all the details on the wings.
Just be sure to follow the instructions carefully while building the inner structure. That was the most challenging part of this set.
So what one can say about it? Great set! No more words needed!

Fun to build, great show piece
I've been eyeing this model up since it came out due to the outrageous price of the older UCS version. I have the UCS TIE Interceptor and it would have made a great addition to that piece.
However, this build will do nicely! I really enjoyed taking my time to build it allowing all aspects to come to life. This is my first large build in some time so it did take me awhile. Other obligations kept me from staying on it for long periods of time.
All in all, I love the design. The stickers on the cockpit were a pain to apply and I think it would have done better with printed pieces.
I would absolutely recommend this to anyone.

favorite so far
This is an amazing model one of favorites of the movie and just amazing to have! The build was an easy and fast one all bags are numbered for esay building and splits the build up into chapters so you can leave and come back at a later time. Some of the parts are a bit Repetitive but so worth it just to have this amazing ship in you collection would definetly recommend to other builders collecting the ucs models my only Criticism would be that it should definetly come with a minfig luke cause it is the perfect size for him as you can see i have placed one inside the cockpit and he fits perfect but other that that its perfect in my opinion.

Best X-Wing Ever
This is a challenging kit. But at least it is built by numbered bags sequentially. It is totally fantastic. The cockpit is detailed and even has a joystick. I would say it took me 10-14 hours to assemble, but I took my time. The only fault with the instructions is on the decals. Lego did not indicate where on the opposing side to put 2 of the decals. But it is easy enough to figure out. I totally love the kit. The wings open and close easily. And so does the cockpit and storage area under the belly. The only thing I am disappointed with is the stand. It is not sturdy enough to hold the model straight since it is back end heavy. Otherwise this is the most detailed and strong kit I have come across. I would highly recommend you trying it!

Great X-Wing, too bad it has stickers
I've just recently have gotten back into building with Lego because of my daughter. This is only the second UCS set I have built (B-Wing was the first), and I must say it fun. The knob on the back makes it really easy to get the s-foils in the right position. The cockpit has a nice touch with the targeting computer.
The only knock I have against this set is that the stickers should have been printed on the Lego pieces. I bought the Maersk train (#10219) back in July and some of the stickers are already falling off. So I decided to NOT apply them to this set. It's too bad because it would really complete it. If you are playing $200 for a set the stickers SHOULD BE printed. That would have made this set truly ULTIMATE!

Classic X-Wing
Very nice set for a collector.
Pros:
Huge vehicle...on the scale of 5-inch action figures.
Build-able display stand included.
Very detailed cannons and engines.
Clever opening and closing wing design.
New cockpit design for this set.
Cons:
Decals. The cockpit decals can be difficult and ruin easily.
The wing decals darken on the grey slanted pieces...should have included white parts instead.
The wings are too thin for my taste, plates loosen easily.
Red detailing is dark red, not the color from the movies.
Final notes:
I am a collector and enjoy building the detailed sets. Though the set is too big for my son to play with, it is fairly durable. I added another layer of white plates to the bottom half of each wing to reinforce them. I added tiles where I felt I needed to cover up some of the studs as I like a smoother model. I replaced the dark red plates and tiles with regular red as it is my personal taste. I also reinforced the stand since I added weight to the wings. Bottom line for me, This is a great set to work with as you can customize it to fit your taste.

Huge!
I have only started building my StarWars Lego collection recently, R2D2 UCS was among my purchases with the X-Wing. The X-wing took me 5 and half hours to build none stop and i loved every minute of it. The Size of this 'display model' is huge and very impressive. However i did not have any negatives with my R2D2 UCS build but the X-Wing had a few disappointments.
1. The cockpit - Provided with 2 sets of stickers, because of the size of stickers its very very easy to mess up. The cockpit should of just been factory painted like the other sets. I've emailed customer services to request a new cockpit and sticker kit because the first set gained air bubbles and removing the sticker has damaged the acrylic - which for me has ruined the model.
2. it was disappointing that the set didn't contain a Luke Skywalker minifigure which i have now purchased separately
others have complained about landing gear, for me the stand is good enough even with a little wobble at times because of the weight (heavy set) but i agree with others - it would have just been nice to have, especially when you consider the price.
Overall i would definitely recommend this set for the Lego Collector, its not really something a child would play with because of the weight and size.
