I’ve wanted this set for a while now. Lego finally had a free GWP that I actually liked, Upscale Baby Astronaut (Red). I ended up missing about four pieces but I made it work with leftover pieces from this set & past sets. I’m actually taking a Jazz class this semester, so this built was extra special.
Nice empty set that belongs in the collection. The package was very neatly packaged.
My son was very happy with his Christmas gift.
Treated myself to this to add to my festive scene and wow it was fabulous to build lots of fun and with the lights I got really bought the club to life and it a wonderful addition to my collection - the build is not easy but fun and each part from the jazz club and singer to the pizza shop next door the detail is amazing
This is a beautiful addition to my collection. Love the colors, the club area, the magician's room, the stylist, the dressing area, and singer's room; all of it works well together. I gave 5 stars on every rating except for the 4 stars on building the set and that is only because there seems to be a print error in my instruction book. I thought I was missing the pieces from bag #12 that are for step #332 on page 252 in my instruction book. I placed a complaint with customer service on the website listing the missing pieces. While waiting to receive the missing pieces my granddaughter decided to sort the pieces in bag #13 which is where we found the missing pieces. Luckily I was able to cancel the request for the missing pieces. You guys have the best customer service.
Super fun to build and really nice looking. I am building as many modular sets as I can get my hands on. The details were so excellent and the instruction booklet gave background details about specific parts of the build that gave the whole build a story.
I bought this set during the holidays. It was sold out online and I was lucky enough to find one last box in my local Lego store. Recently getting into the Modular’s have been fun, BUT, once I got to bag 11 or 12, there were several parts missing. After looking in my excess bricks box, after opening the next bag, some of those pieces were there. Very frustrating for sure. So I hope for the sets on back order that Lego will do an extra check to ensure the bags have the right pieces attached to them. Otherwise, it’s really a lovely set that I’ve added to my newly created Lego city.
I am just getting into the modular building series. This was a fun build but was a little disappointed that I was missing a couple of key parts. Luckily, I have quite a few extra parts from other builds (as I am sure most people do) and was able to piece together a work around and it doesn't show in the final build. Other than that, very colorful, some interesting features and enjoyable.
I won’t get in to other reviews’ issues around pieces, etc. Suffice it to say I didn’t have this issue. I think the details are lovely, the unusual colour schemes are fun and the absence of stickers is a joy. But. As a former double bassist, the scale of the bass infuriated me! TLG has gone to the trouble of crafting a beautiful 17-piece carry case for a cello. It’s so odd when everything about this set is so good that such a simple detail is messed up, especially when a new mould must have been used. It’s a minor gripe but I does kind of render that minifig and play element wrong for me! Otherwise, though, superb.
I have been buying Lego for 20+ years and have always absolutely loved building the sets. Lego has always been of such a high and uncompromising quality. However, if I hadn't bought this set directly from Lego.com, I would be convinced the set was a fake. Every single brick has an imperfection on the Lego logo. I'm assuming these are from the cheaper moulds they now use to cut costs. Each of these pieces looks like a cheap fake. I'm so sad to have to leave this review but the reduced quality has decreased my building enjoyment yet the prices have not decreased to reflect the lower quality.
Bag 5 was missing 57 pieces. Bag 12 was missing 8 pieces. Without a doubt, worst Lego set yet. I was having fun and enjoying the build until I got to bag 5. I am missing 57 pieces from that bag. From this point on the build was not fun anymore, however, I wanted to continue the build. This is where I discovered another 8 pieces missing. Now I have an unfinished, Franken-Jazz Club. I had to use many of my own bricks, which could not all he color matched. Very disappointed with this set. Having said that, this is the only Lego set among many where I am missing bricks like this.
This is the second modular building I have purchased and built, the first being Assembly Square. That one was obviously a league of its own, but I am glad I followed up with the Jazz Club. I did appreciate the special architectural flourishes, such as the attention to detail on the façade and rooftop. The small greenhouse is really cute too. I liked the 45-degree angles on the first and second floor; I really wasn't expecting something like that, but it was executed rather well and added a special depth to the build. The minifigures are also unique and fun, especially the musician that can carry the bass guitar case on his back. Like many others, I too had missing pieces from bag 12 for the final two steps that ended up being in bag 13. Unfortunately, I did not check the next bag and requested the missing pieces online. They arrived almost two weeks later, and then I finally was able to continue building. Given that this is a premium product at a premium price from a premium brand, this is unacceptable. C'mon Lego, it is clear so many people are having this problem, so why not indicate that somewhere? If someone is ordering those specific pieces, why not tell them to just check the next bag? It was such a bummer to wait two weeks to finish the build and then realize I didn't even need to wait; the pieces were there the whole time.
I got this set on release day jan 1st and Iv just completed it today although Iv had other things Doing but Iv loved taking my time on this one and the little details are amazing would recommend 100% it’s currently attached to my boutique hotel
This was my second modular build (first was the boutique hotel) and I really enjoyed the building experience. Luckily, I had read the reviews before buying so I was aware of the issue re the pieces from bag 12 being in bag 13. I would have thought a sticker could have been put on the boxes to warn the builder to check the online instructions. I was also missing a couple of pieces, which was disappointing. Luckily I had some of my own that I could substitute. I love the stained glass windows, the hanging baskets and the roof garden. However, I thought a few more bits could have been added to the garden. I added a couple of pot plants myself. The other element I wasn't thrilled with was the bare walls at the sides. I know they are modular and for connecting to other buildings but lots of us display them individually so a bit of interest wouldn't go astray. I added a painting to one wall and some hanging/climbing plants to the other. I have a garden with a coffee shop I made using the lunar new year parts freebie and some other bits that goes between the jazz club and the hotel so the climbing plants fit in well there. Overall, a very enjoyable build that looks great.

Beautiful model
Don't get me wrong, this is a great build BUT the instructions are a bit off. I see lots of reviews about missing pieces, but they're not missing, the instructions are wrong. I've attached photos to help.
as a lifelong lego builder I was head over heels when my girlfriend picked this out on a whim visit to the lego store at the flatiron. I see a lot of complaints of missing pieces, there's many sections of repeating bricks and colors with slight length variation and its easy to put the wrong one in the wrong place which will mess you up later on. That being said take your time. It's an awesome build to sit down and tackle with your loved one, have a soda and fresh flowers at the table and its several date nights worth of entertainment. As you can see we followed up with the hotel. Love this series lego, thank you!
after building first bag found 2 pieces missing and had to order them, took over a week to get. Half way through found bag missing and had to order, still have not received, been over a week. Thought Lego would expedite it but they do not do this. Lost interest in this set since it has been sitting over a month.
This year’s 2023 Modular Building is beautiful. LEGO’s attention to detail, as with all designs/sets, is incredible! I unfortunately (for the first time) am missing several pieces from a bag, so I can’t finish the build until I receive what I need. I am always impressed with LEGO’s customer service! They are always extremely kind and resolve issues without complications. Out of all of the LEGO Modular Buildings, this one has been the easiest to build. I do wish there was a little more complexity; however, overall, I am very satisfied with this beautiful building. I can’t wait to connect it to my other builds! I would surely recommend this set to other LEGO fans.
