Great for kids to play with
The pieces are sturdy, safe, and very easy to connect, just like all Duplo products. My little one loves spinning the blades and seeing how the wind turbine works, and in the process, they are learning basic concepts of energy and movement. Perfect for playing, exploring, and learning at the same time, without any complications or frustrations. Quick assembly, attractive design, and guaranteed fun from the very beginning. Highly recommended for young children and families who want an educational and entertaining set.
When talking about construction sets for young children, there's a rule of thumb in my house: if it can withstand a two-year-old's "I'm going to take it apart to see how it works" phase, then it's a go. This set with the wind turbine and electric car was a gift for my son about two years ago, and I can say that, despite being a small set, it's one that's actually used… and doesn't just sit around collecting dust. The great thing is that it's easy to assemble, but it has those two or three "functions" that kids love: the rotating turbine, the idea of refueling/recharging, and the car that moves. In other words, build in two minutes, then the role-playing game begins, and you don't stop. What's in the box and how to play The pieces aren't many (it's a compact set), but they're well-chosen: there's the car, the charging station, the wind turbine with rotating blade, and a couple of characters/accessories to invent stories. For a 2-3 year old, this is the perfect formula: few elements, clear, recognizable, and immediately "action". My son has nicknamed the charging station "gas station". I tried to explain to him that it was an electric charging station powered by the turbine… but he just looked at me seriously and kept filling it up. And that's okay: the important thing is that the game works, and it works great. The rotating turbine: the star of the set If I had to say what made the biggest impact, it was the rotating blade. It really spins, and for a small child, it's one of those things they repeat and repeat: spin, stop, spin faster, spin slower… then they connect the charging and pretend to "activate" everything. It's a simple detail, but it's exactly the type of mechanism that makes the set come to life. Quality and compatibility: fits perfectly There's not much to invent here: the pieces are solid, large, easy to grab and assemble. No annoying edges, everything is nice and smooth and sturdy. And above all: it fits perfectly with other sets from the same line. We already had other bricks and figures, and in fact this one ended up right in a larger "city," with invented roads, garages, animals, and improbable stories. Is it educational? Yes, but without a lesson The theme is sustainability, clean energy, and "green" transport. In practice, at 2 years old, the child doesn't exactly give a lecture on wind energy, but they start to familiarize themselves with the idea: there's a turbine that produces energy and a car that charges. And even if they initially call it "gas station," they're already playing with a different concept than a regular gas station. For me, this is a smart way to introduce the topic without forcing it. Size and expectations: small but well-thought-out set It's a compact set, so don't expect huge constructions. But, precisely because it's small, it's perfect as a gift/present: it assembles quickly, doesn't scare, and offers immediate play. Plus, it's one of those sets that, even after the first construction, continue to be used because the pieces lend themselves to many variations. In conclusion It's a successful set for 2-3 year olds: robust, immediate, with a fun function (the rotating turbine) and a very easy role-playing game to invent (refueling, travel, repairs). If you already have similar bricks, it fits perfectly and becomes another piece to expand the world of play. I recommend it without hesitation as a gift: small, but with a nice idea and lots of play value. Pros: - Large, solid bricks perfect for small hands - The rotating turbine is super engaging for kids - Immediate role-playing (refueling/recharging, travel, repairs) - Fits perfectly with other sets and bricks from the same line - Easy assembly, simple instructions Cons: - Compact set: few pieces, so more like a "gift" than a large construction - For very active children, the small characters/accessories may need to be kept an eye on (as always) Final considerations Given to my son when he was about two years old: it was one of those games that didn't immediately get abandoned, especially because of the rotating turbine and the pretend "pump" for charging. High quality and perfect compatibility with the other sets we already had. As a gift for a 2-3 year old, it's really a hit. I hope this translation is helpful!
