Never say die!
My wife got this for me for Christmas, and I gotta say, what a brilliant build! My young son is building it with me and telling him about each scene as we go has been such fun! This movie inspired me as a young kid, and the design in my opinion is just brilliant. We have done a lot of Lego these last few years, and if you are a fan of the movie, will absolutely love this. He’s been playing with it as we go along, and thus far finding it pretty playable. Super fun build, thank you!

By far my most favorite build
I usually space out the bags on build some can make it last longer. After getting to bag 10 you in one sitting, I had to make myself stop. This is my most favorite build up to this point. I’d recommend it to any Goonies fan. There so many moments from the movie that with bring back your excitement from the movie. The only negative I have is I was missing one piece

Love the build but has some flaws
The build looks extremely good with only 4 stickers and amazing play features but when connecting the back of the ship (piano & one eyed Willy room) the skull got stuck off & it broke some pieces off :( but I got it fixed and the minifigures were extremely cool

Best kit yet
As an avid Goonies fan this ticked all the boxes. It’s packed with memorable Goonies scenes, there are a few challenges re moving parts and I guarantee it will make any Goonies lover smile

Must buy The Goonies!
My 10 year old son and I worked on this over 3 days. We LOVE the movie and could not believe the many details from the movie. The bone organ, the water slide, Chester Copperpot, the blender at the Fratelli’s…just to name a few. The precision to detail is phenomenal. We had a great time building, making a great memory, and even watch the movie when we finished. Thanks Lego!

Amazing- really fun for movie fans, But-
Great set, fun build experience and filled with easter eggs for movie fans. Even adults will not be able to resist the play features that allow you to recreate iconic movie scenes. While i will not pretend it's not overpriced, i spaced out building over three days so I felt reasonably fulfilled.
My one big problem is not with the set itself, but with customer service. During building, i noticed the second cloth sail, (the one in the back of the ship) was missing. I'm not sure if this was a packaging mistake (doubtful) or if I lost it while building since as i said I built it over a few days. When I tried to order a replacement from Lego, I found that they the part is seemingly not available for replacement (nothing showed up when I input the piece # on the instructions) I emailed them but have not heard back, so I ended up ordering it from Bricklink for $15, which unfortunately kinda soured my final experience. Again, not a fault of the set, but I would definitely caution buyers about misplacing those rare cloth sails!

Great set! Fun to build! A+++
This is definitely one of the coolest sets I’ve ever purchased. It is extremely detailed and has multiple rooms depicting memorable scenes from the movie. Even though there are a lot of minifigs, I like that you can place them on the set avoiding loose pieces. I like that there is literally no repetition in pretty much the entire set. The set is extremely sturdy and can be easily moved around. The play experience is very elevated with so many different things to do. Overall, this set is definitely recommended for any Goonies fan.

Nostalgia Meets Frustration in LEGO Goonies 21363
As a lifelong Goonies fan, I waited nearly two years for this set with sky-high expectations. Unfortunately, while there are some fun nostalgic touches, the final product feels like LEGO missed several key opportunities and in some cases, basic execution.
Structural Issues During the Build
The biggest frustration was how fragile the build felt. Several sections kept falling apart with the lightest touch, especially while assembling tighter, more detailed areas. Instead of enjoying the process, I found myself constantly reattaching pieces that shouldn’t have been so delicate. Frustration set in as early as bag 1 of 21, when the leaky pipe repeatedly fell off during assembly. By bag 20, I was still dealing with similar issues — like the back of the ship breaking apart or the pendant falling off with the slightest breath. For a premium Ideas set, this level of instability shouldn’t be happening.
Problematic Moving Parts
A few interactive elements simply don’t function as smoothly as they should. Some of the moving features either jam, fall off, or require so much force that they don’t feel intentional or fun. These are supposed to be highlights of the set, but they end up feeling like afterthoughts.
Tight Design Makes Characters Hard to Place
Several areas are so cramped that it’s difficult to position minifigures or use certain features if you have medium (average)-sized hands. The closet door in the Fratellis’ basement is a prime example: it’s tucked in so tightly that it’s awkward to reach, and the door handle falls off almost every time I try to open it. Features shouldn’t require precision finger gymnastics to use.
Inaccurate Movie Detail
One of the most iconic props from The Goonies is the $50 bill… yet the set includes a $100 bill instead. It’s a small detail, but for a nostalgia-driven release, it stands out in the wrong way. Fans notice these things, and LEGO usually excels at this kind of accuracy, so it’s disappointing.
Final Thoughts
After waiting nearly two years for this set, it’s hard not to feel like LEGO dropped the ball. There are charming elements and good minifigures, but the structural fragility, flawed play features, awkwardly tight design, and missed movie details keep this from being the tribute Goonies fans deserved.

That’s my moms favourite piece
What a great build, the nostalgia levels with this build is unreal. Was really enjoyable to build, the moving parts work pretty well, one or two of them not so much but overall a really good build

This was a fun build and I learned lots of new things. I just started this year back in April and love learning new things with each new build.

Hey yooooou guuuuys!
This set is great! Very enjoyable build, and follows the movie storyline throughout. Good play features, and Minifig design was A+ as well. Anyone who is a fan of Goonies and Lego should definitely check this set out.

Missing stickers
Nothing more annoying then to set time aside to do a build I’ve been excited about for months only to get barely to bag 2 and find there are no stickers that are required. On the material list it is not even listed as a part. But clearly at step 62 a sticker is required and numbered 3. But when requesting the missing stickers even the service request offered by LEGO says this set doesn’t have stickers. Now I have to pause a build I actually took time off work to build, to wait for a response in a few days and who knows how long it will take to receive the stickers as it says it can be 8 weeks to receive missing parts. Very frustrating.

This is an excellent build. The ship is great. The best part of this whole set is all the minifigures, very cool. Very detailed.

Nostalgic Build That Misses The Mark
I am a child of the 80’s. This set holds so much nostalgia for me. I lived in Oregon for years. This is my most anticipated set of the year. I am overall satisfied with the build experience. Time will tell on the brittle brown worries as certain areas of the build are delicate or flimsy (Captain’s Quarters for example). I like the vignette style, but moving once complete is worrisome. I do not think there are enough connection points. My biggest disappointment comes with the highlight of the set. The minifigures are lacking in original face prints, dual molded legs, lack of mid-legs for the kids (very poor designer choice here as Stranger Things and Willy Wonka both got the mid-leg treatment for their child characters), and the hair/face choice for Francis Fratelli is way off. These vignettes all inspire action. It is hard to increase play or mimic action when half the figure have to stand on chairs or look lifeless. I think the mark was missed here. I will display the set proudly, but know it could’ve been better if the characters got the love and care in design that was due.
