I am not blind, or have the capability to read braille, however I think that it is a slap in the face to someone who IS blind and may want this set. 90 dollars for 287 pieces that are just FLAT PLATES??? This is a complete rip off and I hope that LEGO does something about this.
So happy to have found brailled lego bricks for my blind grandson. Hope he loves them as much as my sighted grandsons do. Thank you Lego for being so inclusive.
This is a fantastic product and allows me to interact with my son who is blind to show him the fun and skills he can apply in using lego, I really appreciate this product
I will say upfront these aren’t for sale in the USA where I live, so I haven’t purchased these yet. But I grew up with kids who were blind and kids with other handicaps that might use these as well. I would have LOVED to have this set to learn to communicate with them in their world. (Don’t get me wrong, I was friends with many and even learned to play chess from one of those friends!) I said many, many years ago when I saw a 6 peg Lego block up close, that they would be a perfect braille tool! I’m so glad LEGO has finally done this. I’m spreading the word! Even pushing 70 now, I still know Special Education contacts. I won’t hesitate to recommend these! My one and only concern, is that the families who will need these the most will be the most likely to not be able to afford the price. Kids and families with Special Needs have huge medical bills as a result of the extra medical expenses involved in treatment of Special Needs, as well as many expenses for various kinds of therapy. Maybe LEGO. Could devise a program to underwrite all or a portion of the sets for kids especially with blindness!
