I had a terrific experience figuring out what to build within the limits of this kit. I found it both fun and relaxing at every stage of the build. I wasn't sure when I purchased the kit how I would react, but now I'm very glad I bought and built.
Be nice if there was an inexpensive option to get other color bricks for the letters. Also could use more bricks to build more bases. You can make the "A", "L", "F" and "E" block letters instead of curvy ones. The "O" can also be changed to look slimmer. I modified the way the bases attach to stabilize the build to keep it from typing over so easily. I didn't notice that my build made the shape of "I" until I put it all together so it reads "I LOVE MY HOME".
I do wish the letters came in different colors than tan/light brown, but besides that, I enjoy that this build has nearly unlimited possible designs.
I absolutely love this set, I have built four different messages with it over the course of the last month Took pictures and sent each to my girl Love the size of the letters as she is dealing with vision issues and hopefully won't have it hurt her eyes when she reads it I have recently bought a second set as to try to make slightly longer messages to send to her
Superb Set allows youngesters to get to grips with letters, words, phrases and is a reading aid, all with a mechanical architectural twist. This set is designed to express 30 characters (inc punctuation) I built my 1st phrase "Happy Christmas" 14 characters plus 2 spaces but found that I had already used all 4496699. I was also running low on 6395635, 6373439, 4205160, 4142135, 6164288 and 6058329. The design caters for for fixings 6395635 to supports 4539880, but as the model is vertical I found after building it that additional use of extra 6395635 made for far better rigidity. This is a superb concept for messages and imaginative use of letters and I highly recommend it. BUT cater for purchases of many components from "Pick a Brick" to achieve even the most simple of messages in the sets original 30 character concept
This was a an easy and great build. Kids would love this. Could make family name and so many other ideas. Has plenty of pieces to switch it up later and easy to assemble that’s the best part.
I had so much fun putting this one together. I did a custom version instead of any of the options in the book. So it did take me a bit to figure out how to make my message work. I took the time and sketched on paper first to make sure it would go together and I was within the character limit. I had to play with it a bit to make sure it would stand since mine was a little high, but in the end I got it all to work and extremely happy with this build. I had a few letters left over and made a separate message.
