Amazing build
I am absolutely in love with this set. It had the perfect mix of challenges and the easier build techniques. It looks amazing and the highlight of the build had to be the transmission honestly lego have some talented and creative people working for them to even make that possible down to the working paddle shifters. Blown away by this set would reccomend to anyone looking for a challenge and a really nice display peice

Not bad, only 22 hours over 2 days to build. It was an impulse buy.

Fun both before and after building.
Incredibly fun activity for both young and old. Despite consisting of a huge number of pieces, the time flies by when you're working on it. Very easy to assemble thanks to the clear instructions, and not only do you have a fun activity, but you also end up with a beautiful work of art. I'm not a car or LEGO fan myself, but I find it very enjoyable. Definitely worth the price, but you get what you pay for.

great set
With a 16-hour build, it was definitely worth the money. Since this is a larger set, I had to purchase a few other Technic sets before getting this one. However, after building the two 1:8 bikes, Ducati and BMW, I decided to get this set and was very happy with my purchase. I made way fewer mistakes than I thought I would, to be honest, so overall, it was a fun build.

Incredibly cool interactive puzzle.
Really fantastic. I rarely buy LEGO myself, as it's quite expensive, but this was a lot of fun. Just the box looks really cool, and the instruction booklets are also nicely designed like a magazine, with information about McLaren and how to build the LEGO version. There are 19 bags, each of which takes approximately 45-60 minutes to assemble. The car has a lot of fun moving gears/parts, and we were always amazed at what it could do. We've been working on it for a while, and we're looking forward to opening a new bag whenever we have time. It's not finished yet, but it's already very cool, and I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's finished!

LEGO has exceeded expectations with this McLaren P1 set.
Truly a very beautiful LEGO set! Building it was very educational, you learn everything about the construction of the McLaren P1. They haven't skimped on detail in the set.
There is plenty of building fun, you will be busy with it for HOURS. The quality of this LEGO McLaren P1 is sublime, definitely worth the money!
You will not regret choosing this set as your next project. Truly recommended!

Not too bad
The car itself was bigger than i expected when i actually finished building it which is obviously good, but there are a lot of open spaces around the car, especially the rear end (which needs a lot of improvement). Overall, the building experience was extremely fun (i need to mention that my fingers were absolutely cooked after i finished) and i just wish they took more time to add details to make it smoother in appearance and also details in the interior. Even though you can get this cheaper from another website, it is still very overpriced (my opinions should be priced at around $400) but i would still recommend this product. 🤪

As soon as you see the box, you'll be happy, and when you open it, it gets even better and better.

McLaren build
I enjoyed the build of this kit. It was a very good comparison to building an actual car with all the mechanics that went into the car to make the features functional from engine to pistons to shocks. Doors, hood, storage and spoiler all open or adjust. This was the largest build I have done with technic bricks. Happy to see the final product.

Awesome as usual….but the price
An incredible build and a very cool display piece. Still, the price of these things is getting harder and harder to justify purchasing. I absolutely get the detailed complexity of these sets cost $ to produce, but when I can buy a major appliance for the cost o two of these sets, then well….it’s tough to justify. I’m an older adult so I suppose I have some amount of “disposable income” (although by no way a lot) so I can afford them. Every time I buy one, though, I think how many folks - especially younger - are simply getting priced out of enjoying these sets. Philosophical rant over, this is an incredible set. Tremendous fun to build and great display piece.

Mac Laren
What a wonderful product. The detailed explanation of the creation of the Mac Laren is a great reference book. Building the car is a pleasure, everything is in bags and is excellently organized. The description is accurate in every detail. A real recommendation.

What a great set!
When the box arrives, you can already see that a lot of work will be involved with this set. With more than 3800 parts, you're in for a long haul. About the box: The adventure begins with opening it. It's a very enjoyable experience to discover everything you're getting. Before you can start using the bricks, you've already had a whole adventure. About the model: What a valid set. Not only the final result is impressive. The journey you take while building is also a great adventure. With 23 building phases (i.e., bags in this case), you gradually progress in building/making a car. There are too many highlights to mention in this model, but I recommend building slowly and enjoying the process and the functioning of the (internal) functions. When the model is finished, you really have a very striking and immediately recognizable McLaren P1. The downside is that most of the functions are covered by the chassis. About the building instructions: The instructions are easy to follow. In some places, it's not entirely clear which part (or sub-model) goes where, but this can be easily solved by browsing the building instructions. I haven't been able to find any errors in the building instructions during the build, which is unusual for this series. Overall: For me, this is definitely the top in Lego building. For the experienced builder, there are enough new (and specially designed for this set) parts. The nice thing is that it never becomes boring and tedious. (Yes, a car does have a left and a right side. The color of the model is nice and bright, so it immediately stands out when you place the model somewhere. A real "eye-catcher"! There is a lot of complaining about the fact that the front doesn't look like the original model, but personally, I think this is acceptable. It's important to realize that it is Lego Technic and that certain simplified design choices have to be made.

McLaren P1
This set is nothing short of brilliant! I have done the three Lego "supercars", the Ferrari Daytona, Lamborghini Sian, and the Bugatti Chiron, and they were all fantastic. But the McLaren P1 is on another level! The most detailed Lego Technic vehicle that I have ever done. And the door mechanism is just amazing. Yes, it is expensive, but all of the larger sets are. But I think that you will be very pleased when you see the finished product! I've done over 50 sets, but this is by far the best one!

Impressive Detail and Design
If you're a fan of both LEGO and supercars, the LEGO Technic McLaren P1 is a must-have for your collection. This model brings the iconic McLaren P1 to life with an impressive level of detail and engineering. Here's a breakdown of my experience building this incredible set.
**Unboxing & First Impressions**
From the moment you open the box, you can tell this is a premium set. The box itself is sturdy and well-designed, with images of the completed model that build excitement for the task ahead. Inside, you'll find several bags of LEGO pieces, a thick instruction manual, and some special elements that hint at the complexity of the build.
The build process is both challenging and rewarding. With nearly 4,000 pieces, this isn't a quick afternoon project, but rather an experience to savour and has taken me around 2 weeks to complete (about an hour each evening). The instructions are detailed, but you do need to pay close attention to ensure everything fits together perfectly, which wasn’t something I did when building my Lamborghini Sian.
**Chassis & Engine** The build begins with the chassis, which quickly showcases the engineering marvels that LEGO Technic sets are known for. The working V8 engine with moving pistons is a highlight, giving you a peek into the mechanical heart of the car.
**Suspension System** Next, the suspension system comes together. The realism here is impressive, with working suspension that mirrors the real McLaren P1's performance-focused design.
**Bodywork & Detailing** The final stages involve building the sleek bodywork, complete with aerodynamic lines and detailed interiors. The attention to detail in the design really shines through as you add all of the finishing touches, revealing the unmistakable silhouette of the McLaren P1.
**Final Thoughts** After spending several hours of focused building, the completed McLaren P1 is a sight to behold and one that now sits proudly with the rest of my LEGO Technic and Iconic collection’s. The model is not only a representation of the real car but also a testament to LEGO's ability to blend play with real iconic vehicles.
If you're considering adding the McLaren P1 to your LEGO Technic collection, I highly recommend it. The build is complex enough to challenge seasoned builders but accessible enough for those new to Technic sets. Plus, the finished model is a stunning addition to any shelf or display.
