Lego F1 Red Bull set 42206
⭐ LEGO Technic 42206 Review
LEGO Technic 42206 is one of those builds that immediately grabs your attention. The construction process is satisfying from start to finish, with a design that comes together in a sleek, streamlined way that really shows off what Technic can do. Once assembled, the model looks fantastic on display—clean lines, great proportions, and a premium presence that fits the price tag.
But there’s one glaring drawback: the stickers. Over 50 of them on a set that costs around £200 feels excessive. At this price point, you’d reasonably expect more printed elements, especially when so many of the stickers are small, fiddly, or essential to the final look. It’s the kind of thing that pulls you out of the build and makes you wish LEGO had invested just a little more into the finishing touches.
🎯 Verdict
A brilliant build with a striking final model, held back only by a frankly ridiculous number of stickers. If you love Technic and don’t mind spending extra time applying decals, you’ll enjoy it—but it’s hard not to imagine how much better it could have been with more printed parts

Awesome build!
I had so much fun building this one. I liked it so much I am seriously considering buying the Ferrari version. Highly recommended!

Nice
Great way to spend time.
Take the pieces out of the bag and put them back in, just as fun as building, then give it to my nephew.

Order with a surprise
I had ordered a LEGO Red Bull Racing car, but when I opened the package, I found the LEGO Notre Dame instead. After a phone call, the issue was resolved. After 2 days, I had my Red Bull Racing car, and a few days later, I received a surprise, in the form of 2 pastries. So, everything was resolved to my satisfaction.

Excellent set
I bought this set for my 11-year-old son. He was initially a little hesitant because he had preferred a Star Wars set, but he eventually put it together with a lot of fun. He was also very happy with the final result, especially that it's such a large model, which is definitely appropriate for that age. He did occasionally complain about pain in his fingers while putting it together. I also think it's a really beautiful set, but that's true of most sets these days.

Best Build Ever
I loved this set….. it takes some stamina to get through the 10 bags but in terms of value there is a lot of work and pieces here. The stickers are many but large and easy to put on and get right, the gear selector, engine pistons and steering are so cool. The finish looks just great…. After this did a quick speed champions and it felt very tame!

Tu-du-du-du is in your head while you are building!
Lights out and let's go! You can build this set almost as quickly as a Red Bull pit stop: it's sleek, smooth, and hassle-free. Compared to the first generation (McLaren F1), the RB20 is much more fun and easier to build. Everything fits together smoothly, the details are on point, and you feel like you're a real engineer in Max's own garage! The details of this RB20 are truly impressive. The suspension, the front and rear wings, the aerodynamic shapes – it's all there. Even the color scheme is perfect, with the dark blue, red, and yellow that immediately reminds you of Verstappen dominating the finish. LEGO has clearly listened to feedback. This car feels like a real evolutionary step: it's more fun, more accessible, and yet still just as cool.

Good but not difficult
I liked the product but I would like the technic models to be a bit more challenging. I have been guilty of buying some other model brick brands from other sources which are so wish Lego would also provide a model which fits the 18+ typeset

I Love this Build!
The RB20 is a fantastic build. Challenging at times, but not overly complex. The livery of the Oracle Red Bull F1 car comes through beautifully. I have loved ALL of the LEGO F1 vehicles so far, and this one fully meets all expectations. Well done, LEGO and Formula 1. Great partnership!

Impressive Build
This kit packs a satisfying result. The model is surprisingly large given the part count. I'm constantly amazed at how the designers crafts such impressive creations. If I could afford it, I would build sets constantly as I have a passion for building. My preferred sets are Technics hands down.

Rear tyre width
I'm an avid F1 and Red Bull fan so i was keen to buy this for myself.
The build and detail of the car was great BUT was very disappointed to see the rear rims and tyres are the same as the front.
Anyone who watches/follows F1 knows that they have wider wheels at the back and narrower at the front.
Assuming this was done as cost saving to have the same wheel all round but the car would have looked amazing if the proper rear wheels were used.

RB20 F1 car
You can’t really go wrong with Lego can you. The packaging is first class and the packs and instructions are well presented. I have just started building this kit and enjoying the whole experience. Just completed engine and drive train so a way to go yet before she is finished.
My only gripe is: Please please please Lego on a 1/8 scale car make the rear wheels wider than the front. Having the wheels the same size just takes the edge off a superb range of models. Other than that, a superb kit and well worth the money.

Really disapponted
My 8 year old daughter spent her own hard earned money for this because she’s a red bull f1 fan. I preordered it for her and we are stuck on bag 2 because the wrong piece is in the bag. We know because we haven’t even opened bags 3+, and there’s a completely random piece in its place. So we contact customer service and are told that it could take 2 weeks. She’s been waiting for this for 2 months. Plus there’s printing and discoloration issues all over the manual and we’re only on bag 2. This may all seem minor but this is $230 for an 8 year old. Plus who knows what might be wrong and how long that might take to remedy down the road. Finger crossed but I’m refunding her her money. Really disappointed with lego.
