My 12 year old was ELATED when I surprised him with this set! He is huge Lego and Pokemon fan and this was the ultimate gift! I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to top this!

False advertising
Ordered this set due to the kanto and restaurant free gifts. I only received the main 700 dollar set. No response from email or tried calling and on hold for 2 hours multiple times. I run a business and this is unimaginable that you would advertise and then not deliver then not respond. Shane on you Lego. Very disappointed.
Fabulous
I thoroughly enjoyed building this set. It is very colour which I feel helped make it more exciting to build. It also didn't feel too repetitive. The set is a good size and solid. Be great if some more characters are made, maybe a big smaller, similar size to Eevee or even brick heads.
Cash Cow
This product is ridiculously overpriced. The fact that Lego is charging this much for the plastic is a desperate attempt to grab money.
GWP's, Price Per Piece and Overall Conclusion
Being born in 93' this set brings back unparalleled levels of nostalgia. One of the first games I ever played was Pokémon Red, then Blue, after Yellow and then every Pokémon game up until Emerald. I was even the proud owner of the Nintendo 64 Pikachu Edition and a fantastic, now sought after collection of cards (up until Neo Genesis) but left them at our old house when we moved when I was a kid by mistake. Heartbreaking. Anyway, I haven't built this set as I currently have no room for more LEGO and need to make another trip to IKEA. However, I have seen build videos, unboxings, the manuals and more. It looks like a brilliant nostalgia filled build and I cannot wait to make it. I am however disappointed by Charizards poor standalone base compared to the others. I get why this is the case but I feel like more could of been done to make it look as good as the others. I purchased this at 12:07am on release date and thankfully I received my Kanto Region Badge Collection GWP and Sushi Shop but did not receive the cat or F1 Academy Car. Many people, even those who pre-ordered didn't even receive their Kanto Region Badge Collection GWP. I've seen this before and it's usually down to LEGO not updating their store page fast enough to reflect the stock. I hope LEGO compensates those affected, including myself. Lastly, the set is very expensive but I do think it's fair. The price per piece is good for £580 when you get almost 7,000 pieces. Especially if you compare this to other licenses such as Star Wars, which is getting completely out of hand. Naturally, I do wish it was cheaper. If you take away the issues with the GWP's I would give this set 4.5/5 as there are nit picks and it's not perfect but overall it's worth it.

im happy with it but wish i orderd during the time to be able to get the lego badges free with it.....i order my sets in late january......
GARBAGE CUSTOMER SERVICE
I preordered this set back in January, still 0 shipping updates. No tracking whatsoever. I have emailed Lego on 2 separate occasions, still no response. I have called multiple times being placed on hold for HOURS without ever getting ahold of someone. I have been an avid Lego builder with 15+ collector's edition sets, and how bad the customer service is is actually scary. Charging $700 for sets and can't even give a loyal customer the time of day. Lego keeps getting more expensive and quality of sets and customer service have gone way down. This will probably be my last set if I ever get it. Wouldn't know because I can't get a response.

This piece was super fun to build. It took 2 days so I was able to spread it out. The details are amazing. Best part I didn’t have to apply my own stickers
