Not worth it

Retailer reviews

When I bought I was quite confused with the instructions so I didn't have the chance to finish the set. Some pieces at the front of the car don't fit as intended. I'm not mad. Just extremely disappointed.
I enjoyed building this and I’m glad I chose it for my first build. I really like how everything comes together quickly and it is broken into more manageable pieces. I would recommend going digital with the directions so you can see the smaller pieces better because it’s all similar colors.
Good overall representation of the car. Easy to build but the fan was a little unnessary
This was a great build. Very nicely detailed although that does mean a lot of tiny pieces but, even worse, a heck of a lot of stickers. My sticker game is extremely weak but I persevered as they really add something to the finished model and I'm glad I did as I think it looks really great built up. Not too sure about the grey colour but it does mean the orange trim really pops. The inclusion of the wind tunnel turbine is a fun addition and the fan really turns which is nice for playing. Plays like a standard mini car and seems reasonably sturdy. although I did only push it around the table making strange "brmm, brmm" noises. Yes, I know I'm supposedly an adult but why stop playing and having fun? Number Of Pieces: 219 Approximate Price Per Piece: £0.06 Build Time: 1 Hour
It is a very beautiful looking model, nice matching colors. Also looks nice under the ultra violet light.
I like this LEGO set for 1 because it is just like the real mclaren senna.
This product was fun to do kept me busy for a little while during these odd times being stuck home would recommend for most not a complicated built either
It was love at the first sight...When i saw it for the first time i totally wanted it... Great work for those axes as headlight... It is a great example for the phrase : " When you pick a lego brick you see endless possibilities."
I was debating on which LEGO set to start with as this is my first build. LET ME JUST SAY, I had a dang good time building this. All the pieces fit together perfectly, and snapped together so satisfyingly. The project turned out amazing and I couldn’t be happier with this. Thanks LEGO. PS you should use my images they look super dope
This was a Christmas gift for a six-year-old, according to his mother; he plays with it endlessly.
This is a nice build for the most part. The finished model looks pretty accurate for the medium. BUT, in all my years of building I’ve never had a set “break the rules.” This one does. The rear assembly does not fit correctly underneath the back of the car. There are slopes that are pushed up out of place when trying to attach the “bumper.” It all just does not fit. The instructions even show the overlap (which is impossible in real life). I’m surprised this one got out this way. Pretty disappointing.
Hi recently purchased this set, the actual build was challenging and with good techniques almost accurate with real life car, it was pretty close except for a couple of things, I believe that it could have been improved, the front headlights lights a different colour, the wheels should be orange but black or sliver and the unique wheel covers like the real car, maybe a new part for this type of super car would be more curved headlights. The side of the car should have more curves and the front spoiler more rounded, maybe curved plate, I think yellow and black should be the next Mclaren. Also can guys at Lego do something with the stickers, they some times damaged in the box, it is very important to put them in the instruction booklet. I like the rear tail lights and the rear of car is good, over all it was great build. Thanks Tony
Kid-friendly. My 5-year-old nephew was very happy with it!
This is a very attractive set with some cool pieces and interesting ways of putting parts together. However, the first thing I noticed when building it is that it felt very narrow. The vehicle it's modeled after is a 2 seater not a single seat, and comparing the final model to the real car's photo, it's easy to see that it's way too thin for how long it is. It still looks great, but it doesn't have that same wide profile supercar feel to it. It also has a lot of stickers, which are nice thin and clear ones, but they'd be so much nicer as a stamped graphic. I'm guessing that McLaren wanted their logos to appear in specific places a certain number of times, and stamping the parts would be too expensive. I just think that stamped parts are more attractive because I don't have to worry about parts being crooked, having fingerprints in the glue, etc. Finally, the spoiler is attached with a really weak method (see photo). I can think of several potential ways the arms holding the spoiler could have been connected securely. The way it's attached by default makes the joint that controls the spoiler angle stronger than the base of the armatures, so just positioning the spoiler can cause the whole thing to fall off. It's just a frustratingly week attachment that isn't very easy to reattach. It's still a great model and looks nice on my shelf until the parts are needed elsewhere.
It is easy to assemble and the final result is also good.
challenging and long-lasting fun.
Bought this set, and also the 75890 and 75891, to complete my own sete of this theme. I've 8 of this, fixed with Lego bricks, in a grey Lego Baseplate, that I bought. Excellent Baseplate, with the ideal size for me. Ii was a pleasure to mount the sets, anda now to appreciate them together. Love this Speed Campions.
What a joy building the McLaren car! From beginning to the end, not a single step feels dull due to its colorful construction throughout the procedure. There are lots of fancy pieces (at least for me) and interesting building techniques that surprisingly makes a sturdy build. Only the tail plate is a little bit fragile. My only complaint is that there are far too many stickers (20 stickers). What makes it worse is lots of them are partly transparent. So you're likely to leave finger prints on it. Personally I would pay 10 more bucks for printed bricks. To sum up, this is a great set. I would highly recommend!
Very excited for the release of this car! Lego has stepped their game up with the realease of all the new, great and exciting vehicles automakers have to offer. As a big car guy, i love the senna in real life. With the aero, angles, and the massive wing, it really is something to look at. When lego gets ahold of something, they really take it to the next level, and you can clearly see this in the build proccess of the senna. Ultimately its a great buy, and a great addition to your LEGO garage.
I am writing the review right now, but I actually got this set about a mouth ago... When TLG first released the images of this car, I had already spotted the axe pieces from Nexo Knights, and my mind was blown. I was so surprised that those pieces are used like this. Additionally, I was also super glad getting the 70336 Ultimate Axl, which has the yellow axe pieces, about years ago. Before building it, I had watched many reviews discussing about the issues of this model, like colors, proportion, and piece-selection, etc.. This is my first Speed Champions set. Honestly, I wasn't thinking about that much. I thought those issues were not big deals. Compared to the sets I had bought, this set has too many stickers. (I know 75885 Ford Fiesta M-Sport WRC has more) I (also) know that TLG has to make many custom printing rubber stamps, which cost lots of money and are hard to preserve, every years. I think making those printed pieces can add more value to the set and make people appreciate it more. Let's hope there will be a flagship street car which has no sticker every half-year. (I know this can be impossible and unfair to those car companies...) About other part of the car, its width is too short or its length is too long. I tried to pull the wheels outward to fool myself that this car is 8-studs wide, and it worked a bit? Maybe? Currently, I do not have any spare piece to fix it on my own. I opened my LDD, and realized the grey mudguard pieces are new and exclusive to the set. There is a gap, which has the size of one by two plate, to fit the windshield. Overall, this is still a great set. It was absent in my last few visits to The Lego Store, and I don't think I have to give it a reason. Many rare colors and pieces are included to satisfy the great Lego community, including those who love advanced model. So, who says a small $15 set cannot be "that" advanced?
