Great Set, Alot of fun.
I got this set a long time ago about 3 years from now but just reviewed it as I wanted to review it, This set is an amazing set that shows the best part of Hogwarts being the dining hall. Even though the set is made for kids it does not look as it and it is a amazing shelve display. If you want this set look no further as it is a truly magical experience.

2017 Great Hall set
This set is fantastic, it has so many minifigures, and has several great display pieces, unfortunately it is dark in the set unless you add additional lighting directed at it to make it light. The Basilisk is a bit small for what it is supposed to be, but this set is fantastic with the mirror of Erised and the reflective stickers. If you are a fan of Harry Potter, or just want a Lego Castle, this is a great set for that

Dinner Time
This is a really good playset and lots of options to play and place your included figures. With everything from a tiny dormitory to a moving staircase there is more than just the Dining Hall included in the set and it gives you a lot of play value once built. I have to admit the included basilisk is really fun and we have found ourselves randomly attacking each other with it for no other reason than it is funny.
Okay, the build itself is the important bit for me and this was one of the more complicated builds I have taken on. By following the printed instructions it is actually much easier than I thought it would be. The images are clear and with the bricks being pre-sorted in to bags it makes it a joy to build. The fact it is split in to bags also gives you natural break points but I will admit I just built this in one gleeful sitting. The only real problem is how addictive this is and it has led me down a rabbit hole of kits that link with this one.

Great but for one thing...
I love this Harry Potter series, have the Great Hall, Womping Willows and Clock Tower and their quite impressive when you put them all together. Overall it is a fun and like able build with not to many large pieces making it also somewhat challenging. It would be a five star review but for ONE super annoying thing that would seem so EASY to get right.
THE STICKERS BACKGROUND ARE NOT THE SAME COLOR AS THE LEGO.
First of all, I’m not a fan of the stickers and prefer them printed on the LEGO piece. But come on, at least get the color nuances right so that it has a chance to blend in when on the piece. Now you clearly see it’s a stickers and it looks bad.
Sorry LEGO, but please
Try to improve on this!
Hoping for more great HP sets in the future.

Another magical LEGO Harry Potter set.
One of the most beautiful LEGO Harry Potter sets, and a must-have if you enjoy building LEGO, whether you are 6 or 99 years old. Also very fun to play with.

A wish came true
I was able to fulfill a childhood dream with this Harry Potter LEGO set. His reaction was simply wonderful. The sparkle in his eyes and the screams he let out were heartwarming. A toy that never gets boring.

Great build with lots of MF!
A really good value for a nice looking Great Hall. 5 Hogwarts "Firstyers" a big Hagrid, Dumbledore, Mcgonagall and Quirrel. Not to mention Harry's owl,Ron's rat, and boat to boot. I may MOC it up to make stained glass, but it doesn't need much. I did add some 1×1 slope tiles to clean it up.

Beautiful castle
I am a fan of Harry Potter and LEGO, and this castle is a very beautiful set. Building it together with my 9-year-old son was fun, and the result is very beautiful with lots of figures and a dragon and a boat.

Awesome set.
I love the extra details with this set, I'll admit this is my first experience with Lego as I purchased as a HP fan but I absolutely love this! Love the characters! I cannot wait to get the rest of sets!

Excellent
As a huge HP fan I really enjoyed building this set. The details are everything and Lego didn't let me down. I do wish that I could display all of the House Flags and that Hermione's cat was included. Overall, this was a great set and I look forward to building my other sets.

Not just for children!
Beautiful Harry Potter set with a lot of attention to detail. The figures are beautiful and also resemble the film characters. It's a shame that there is no figure of Professor Snape, but that is the only downside for me (apart from the price).

House of Hufflepuff & Ravenclaw
Great to see LEGO Finally release some lego with the colours of the other 2 houses the reversible flags are a great touch to this build.
PROS:
One of a kind "The Sorting Hat" amazing design.
Favourite Character: Nearly Headless Nick
Best section to build would be The Mirror of Erised which you can change what you see in it overall a fun build with the new shorter legs for the students being a first in LEGO History for any collector.
CONS: All though this set is a great build someone clearly overlooked the section when the two sets connect as the picture will show the moving stairs no longer line up with the building due to the light.

A beautiful set with lots of detail
The Great Hall set is the latest in line of Harry Potter sets I have built, and it certainly delivers on quality and detail. It comes with an abundance of minifgures, of which I found Neraly Headless Nick most impressive. Professor Quirrell minifigure also comes with a "Voldemort" face on the other side, which is a nice touch, and I found Professor McGonagall's facial expressions amusing. The children minifigures have short legs, but not moveable as they do in the Minifigure bag collection.
The building experience is very good, it was particularly satisfying to build the exterior of the Great Hall. The finished result is beautiful. Other details I have enjoyed were the moving stairs, the house banners that can be changed, and the Mirror of Erised, which can be made to show any of the four scenes that appear in the book. This set was clearly designed by someone who not only had talent, but also a love for the Harry Potter story, as they've gone to great lengths to provide lovely detail that makes this set so enjoyable.
On the negative side, I found Hagrid's minifigure difficult to place anywhere on the inside due to lack of space. It is also impossible to put anyone in a room with the Mirror of Erised, because of where it's placed and can't fit in any of the other rooms. I would have loved a flat brick on top of the fireplace just to keep it together, as without it it feels a bit precarious. I appreciate that the floating candles are hard to translate into LEGO, so the end solution with two black beams ended up looking a bit clunky, and the exposed pin in the centre doesn't look as great - maybe even transparent beams would help? The tower roof doesn't look as fantastic with the sloped brick leaning against the smooth round brick. But these are just little things among a lot of positives.
Overall it's a great set that I am looking forward to building again, and pairing up with more HP sets.

Terrific! Small moc needing a few extra pieces
This is truly a terrific set, so well designed but its missing the small turrets on the main tower... I've had a look through Pick-a-Brick and with the extra pieces shown I've fixed this, enjoy!

Excellent experience!
One day me and my girlfriend walked inside the LEGO store and saw the staff there put this castle on its backside and put the train with it together, the idea was so amazing so we bought the two sets together. The building process was excellent and with a little imagination. We put them two together and has a XBOX as the base , haha! Before we thought one day we would buy the big Hogwarts Castle, but after finishing these two, with more details, we would definitely recommend this one if you don't have much room or already have other castles such as Disney like us!

Hours of building fun
It's a beautiful set that takes a while to build. There are a large number of minifigures included, which can explain the price of the set, but even then, I still find it a bit expensive. The set is detailed and the final result is definitely impressive!
