Battery pack attack
This is a great way to add some great features to your Lego sets. I recommend getting a few power supply battery boxes. And a few lights also. You can not go wrong. Great way to add cool looking extras to sets.

Power up LEGO® Technic™ builds with the LEGO Powered Up Technic Battery Box (88015). This battery-powered unit includes 2 output ports for connecting Powered Up motors and lights.
This battery box is more expensive than its PF predecessor, but it's does have 2 ports instead of one. Yes, I know, I know... you could stack PF connectors which you can't do with PU, but you have two independent switches on this unit that doesn't require an app, another controller, etc. AND - it's the only way you can just turn a motor on and have it run in the current system, (short of using a Spike/RI brain to send power to them - an expensive way to just power a motor). Whilst it's disappointing that some features of power functions have disappeared with powered up, I for one love that we have a simple solution here to power up motors or lights.
