The band between 25 and 50 euros is the heart of the Dutch LEGO market — this is where most boxes cross the counter and where shops fight hardest over the lowest price. The result, as of mid-June 2026: an Ayrton Senna McLaren at half its RRP, a 626-piece T. rex well under forty and a 665-piece Minecraft outpost that just dropped through the fifty mark.
This guide is written for buyers in the Netherlands. On 12 June 2026 BricksDeal compared every set in this price band across dozens of Dutch shops; each set in the top 10 can be compared at thirty or more retailers. The order is based on current lowest price, RRP, price per piece, availability and gift suitability — with a maximum of two sets per theme, so the list delivers for kids and adults alike.

The order of looking matters more than the order of the list: first the RRP (the higher, the more room for discount), then the piece count, and only then the street price. Look at it that way and the same fifty buys you structurally more LEGO.
How we measure value under 50 euros
We combine set data with editorial weighting. BricksDeal curates price, stock and set information from multiple sources and compares it with the current lowest price, RRP and retailer availability. We then judge what you actually get for that money.
The weighting consists of six signals:
- current lowest price versus RRP;
- price per piece: how many bricks do you get per euro?
- discount percentage: how far below RRP does the set sit?
- number of retailers with stock;
- build and play value: model, play set or both?
- gift suitability: does the set work as a surprise without explanation?
On top of that, one hard rule applies: a maximum of two sets per theme. Without it, Technic would fill half the list — the car sets dominate this price band on bricks per euro — and that helps nobody who is shopping for an eight-year-old.
The sweet spot of the LEGO market
Plot Dutch LEGO sales on a chart and you see one clear bump: most sets bought here sit between 25 and 50 euros. It is the amount of a birthday present, a Sinterklaas surprise or an impulse buy with an excuse. Shops know this too, which makes it the band where they undercut each other hardest.
For buyers that has two consequences. First: in this band you almost never need to pay RRP, because some shop is always running a promotion. Second — and this is the core of this guide — it pays not to look for “a 50 euro set”, but for a set with an RRP of 60, 70 or nearly 80 euros whose street price has temporarily dropped below fifty. New in 2026: fresh and already discounted
Normally, new sets hold their RRP for months. The 2026 vintage is different: the tulip bouquet, the Mini Biomes and the Technic Jeep already sit a third to forty percent below RRP within half a year of release. For anyone wanting to give something current, that is good news — you pay clearance prices for sets that will stay in the range for years. Price per piece: how to spot real value
The most honest yardstick in this price band is the price per piece: divide the current price by the piece count. Measured that way the Corvette comes out around five cents per brick, the Jeep and the T. rex sit just above it, and the Pillager Outpost pays for its four figures and big ravager with a good seven cents. That is not a disqualification — figures and licences simply cost money — but it shows where your money goes.
Two caveats belong here. Lots of pieces is not the same as big pieces: the Mini Biomes reaches 797 parts mostly through small elements. And a low price per piece does not make a dull set fun. Display sets for adults
Under fifty you have long stopped being limited to toys. The Botanicals line delivers two sets with the tulip bouquet and the Peace Lily that seem to belong at a florist rather than a toy shop, and the Technic corner adds the Aston Martin Valkyrie and the Corvette — two cars that simply keep looking good once built. Just outside the top 10
A few sets deserve an honourable mention. The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport and the Aston Martin Valkyrie only fell to our two-per-theme rule: at 771 and 707 pieces for € 64,99 and € 46,79 they are full alternatives to the Jeep and the Corvette — more on those in the best LEGO car sets. Gift shopping with a 50 euro budget

Where to buy LEGO under 50 euros
All the big players compete in this price band. Bol.com usually has the broadest stock and fast delivery, Amazon.nl rotates sharp day prices that sometimes last only hours, and LEGO.com is the surest place for new releases — at RRP, but regularly with a free gift set on top. Behind them, Alternate, Proshop, MediaMarkt, Conrad and Coolshop battle per set for the lowest price; which shop wins changes by the week.

When to buy and when to wait
Buying makes sense for the 2024 and 2025 sets: they sit at discount levels that rarely go deeper outside Black Friday, and the outliers in particular — the half-price McLaren first among them — regularly sell out temporarily at the cheapest shops. Waiting can pay off for the 2026 newcomers, although this vintage shows the first big drop often arrives within half a year.
