LEGO Speed Champions aren’t picked just on brand or colour. A hypercar in your favourite livery, a Fast & Furious film car, an F1 team car and a dual-car race set each have a different buying goal. Currently there are over thirty active Speed Champions sets at Dutch retailers; this guide compares them by sub-theme, size and current price.
For live prices and stock, use LEGO Speed Champions. For F1 specifically we have a separate guide: LEGO Formula 1 sets with the full 2024 grid and the three Technic F1 cars.
New in 2026: McLaren W1
77257 McLaren W1 launched in early 2026 as the successor to the iconic McLaren P1 in Speed Champions form. RRP € 27.99; currently € 19.99 at Dutch retailers. 287 pieces, papaya-orange body with black aerodynamic details and fluorescent accents.
It’s McLaren’s newest hypercar (the real W1 is hybrid with 1,275 hp), and their first Speed Champions release since 76918 in 2023. For anyone building both a Speed Champions collection and a McLaren collection, this is a logical 2026 buy.
Other 2026 highlights: 77253 Bugatti Vision GT, 77254 Ferrari SF90 XX, 77256 Time Machine BTTF, 77260 Toyota Supra MK4 from the first Fast & Furious film, 77262 Ken Block Hoonicorn, 77252 APXGP from F1 The Movie. The entire 77250+ series is 2026.
Choose your Speed Champions route
Speed Champions has six recognisable sub-types. Don’t start with “which brand do I like?” but with where the car fits in your collection or as a gift.
| Sub-type | Who looks for this? | Best examples |
|---|---|---|
| Hypercars / supercars | Brand fans, design lovers | 77257 McLaren W1, 77254 Ferrari SF90 XX, 77240 Bugatti |
| F1 race cars | F1 fans and grid collectors | 77242-77251 (see F1 guide) |
| Fast & Furious film cars | Film and street-racing fans | 76917 Skyline, 77260 Supra, 77262 Hoonicorn |
| Classic muscle | American-classic fans | 76934 F40, 77237 Hellcat, 76920 Mustang Dark Horse |
| Dual-car sets | Anyone wanting multiple cars at once | 76922 BMW, 76924 AMG, 77264 Jaguar+Defender |
| Cult favourites | Anyone wanting something unusual | 77256 BTTF Time Machine, 77252 APXGP, 76925 Safety Car |
For anyone who doesn’t yet know their sub-type: 76934 Ferrari F40 is the most universal Speed Champions in the active line. Classic, recognisable, and at € 19.26 a low entry point.
Hypercars and supercars
The most expensive real cars often appear fastest in Speed Champions form. Four hypercars in the active line, all lower-priced current:
For brand loyalists: 77254 Ferrari SF90 XX (€ 19.99) is the track-only hybrid, 77239 Porsche 911 GT3 RS (€ 19.95) is the Stuttgart trackday icon. For something more unusual: 77240 Bugatti Centodieci tributes the EB110 and 77253 Bugatti Vision GT is a Gran Turismo design concept that only exists in 2026 Speed Champions.
Fast & Furious and racing icons
Since 2023 LEGO has held the Fast & Furious licence. The line grows slowly with classic F&F vehicles plus tributes to rallycross legends like Ken Block.
For F&F fans, 76917 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 (Brian’s blue car) is the canonical pick. 77260 Toyota Supra MK4 is Brian’s car from the very first Fast & Furious film and was only added in 2026. 77241 Honda S2000 is Suki’s pink car - the most striking colour scheme in the F&F category. 77262 Ken Block Hoonicorn falls outside F&F but fits the same street-racing niche visually.
Dual-car sets: two cars per box
Speed Champions has a dual-car format that delivers two different vehicles on one base. Price-per-car comes out lower than two separate models.
For a quick racing display: 76922 BMW M4 GT3 + Hybrid V8 (€ 36.99) is the sharpest dual-car deal at € 36.99 per car. 76924 Mercedes-AMG G63 + SL63 mixes SUV and convertible for anyone preferring lifestyle over circuit. 77238 Lamborghini Revuelto + Huracán STO gives you two Lambos at once. 77264 Jaguar Project 7 + Land Rover Defender is the 2026 British combination.
Classic American muscle
For anyone preferring V8 sound and chrome over F1 aerodynamics: three classic US brands in Speed Champions.
76934 Ferrari F40 technically isn’t muscle, but it shares the “iconic 1980s-1990s supercar” category. 77237 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is modern American muscle in black-orange. 76920 Ford Mustang Dark Horse is Ford’s track package. 76935 NASCAR Camaro ZL1 is an official NASCAR Cup Series car for fans of American stockcar racing.
Cult favourites and film tie-ins
For anyone wanting something unusual: three sets from films or special racing contexts.
77256 Time Machine from Back to the Future is the DeLorean with flux capacitor; € 19.99 current, a perfect gift for someone who knows the film trilogy but isn’t a regular Speed Champions collector. 77252 APXGP Team Race Car is the fictional F1 car from the Brad Pitt film F1 The Movie; not a real team but the first film tie-in for F1 fans. 76925 Aston Martin Safety Car + AMR23 is a dual-car set with the official F1 pace car and the Aston Martin AMR23.
F1, supercar or film car?
“What’s the best Speed Champions set?” changes per person. Four rules of thumb:
- Want to collect a team? F1 grid is the most complete; ten team cars for around current price at current prices. See LEGO Formula 1 sets.
- Want one standout model? Hypercars (77254, 77240, 77257) or Fast & Furious (76917, 77260) stand out most.
- Want more car per euro? Dual-car sets (76922, 76924, 77264) give two models per box.
- Want something personal? Cult tie-ins (77256 BTTF, 77252 APXGP) or the DeLorean are more recognisable than generic supercars.
Price strategy
Speed Champions prices follow a recognisable pattern. New releases start around RRP and usually drop to 30-35% off within 6-9 months. F1 grid sets drop slightly faster than hypercars because they’re produced in larger volumes.
For Speed Champions we track eight Dutch retailers: Amazon.nl, Bol.com, LEGO.com, Wehkamp, Coolblue, Lidl NL, Intertoys and GoodBricks. Lidl NL frequently has the sharpest prices on Speed Champions (mid-budget range). Prices are refreshed at least twice a day; the maximum age of a price on BricksDeal is twelve hours.
For F1 specifically: prices drop after the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort (end of August) and again around Black Friday.
Retiring or years left
Speed Champions have shorter production cycles than many other LEGO themes: eighteen months to two years per release.
- Fresh (2025-2026): all 77237-77264 sets plus the entire 77250+ series. No retirement risk until 2027.
- Mid (2024): 76920 Mustang Dark Horse, 76921 Audi S1 e-tron, 76922 BMW, 76923 Lambo Vision GT, 76924 Mercedes-AMG dual, 76925 Aston Martin Safety Car, 76934 Ferrari F40 and 76935 NASCAR. Years of availability left but prices keep drifting.
- Higher risk (2023): 76917 2 Fast 2 Furious Nissan Skyline. Three years on sale, the oldest active Speed Champions; candidate for retirement in 2026 or early 2027.
For a broader view: LEGO sets retiring in 2026.
For kids and adults
Speed Champions has an age rating of 9+ or 10+ and is deliberately designed as the bridge between kids LEGO and adult collectibles. The bricks aren’t too small for 10-year-olds, but the detail and livery are adult enough to display alongside Modular Buildings.
For kids under 9: pick Speed Champions with big stickers and recognisable cars (76935 NASCAR, 77237 Hellcat). For adults who prefer building: 76922 BMW dual-car or 76924 Mercedes-AMG dual-car give 600+ pieces, comparable to a mid-tier Architecture set.
For the F1 fan
The 2024 F1 grid is fully represented in Speed Champions (77242-77251) plus 77258 F1 Academy and 77252 APXGP from F1 The Movie. For anyone wanting a specific team car or the full grid, our LEGO Formula 1 sets guide goes deeper: all ten teams at current prices, plus the three Technic F1 models (42206 Red Bull, 42207 Ferrari, 42171 Mercedes).
Sources and method
We compare active Speed Champions set prices at eight Dutch retailers at least twice a day: Amazon.nl, Bol.com, LEGO.com, Wehkamp, Coolblue, Lidl NL, Intertoys and GoodBricks. The maximum age of a price on BricksDeal is twelve hours; after that it is refetched.
Piece count, release year and set data come from Brickset and Rebrickable, with LEGO.com as the primary RRP source. We always compare against the official RRP, not the highest retailer price of the moment.
Affiliate links are labelled as such. We don’t accept paid placement; retailers cannot buy their ranking. This guide was reviewed on 15 May 2026 by Frank Spin.
